Dufty ?

Hard to make a case for Dufty when your team gets hammered 48-14.
I think McGregor will play experience against his fellow ex-Dragon Barrett.
So, Nighty to fullback, Mann at centre and Milne on the wing.
Bring in Leilua or Havili as the bench 17.
Nighty FB, Mann to wing and Aitken back to centre. Milne to keep bench spot.

For crying out loud Mann has been part of the 18 every game and Dufty has not and if ever there was going to be a week where Dufty was part of the 18 then it was this week.
It didn't happen and they went for Milne so that tells you something.
If Aitken is also out Milne to centre / wing with Mc Donald, Mann to FB and maybe just maybe Dufty to the bench but I suspect KFFL which will get the gig and give them the option to shuffle Nighty back to FB if need be.

No way dufty will play next week. It'll be nightingale to fb, mann to wing and Aitken or Milne to centre depending on fitness of Aitken.

I suspect Mann or Nightingale will be FB but I'd prefer Mann. Gypsy's just so safe on that left edge, and his combination with lafai is building nicely.

I would like to see Dufty but don't be surprised if Millward pushes Mcgregor to use Field at FB to test out his theory that he's ready to play FB before moving to 5/8 in a few years..

My hunch is MANN to FB

MANN
Nightingale
Milne
Lafai
Mcdonald

Field on bench

Yeah, I think it will be Mann to fullback and Milne to centre. Because I don't think Field and Aitken are 100% fit.

Has anyone been watching reserves? I wonder whether Dufty has full recovered from his knee injury. He seems to have fallen from grace somewhat.

I tend to think that McGregor will and rightly so go for the least disruption option to a team that is winning. In saying that i think the FB will be Nighty who has covered there before on many occassions. The fact that Mann slotted to FB before Nighty when Duges went off might work in his favor but i think the major reason for that was that Milne was on the bench and could do a straight swap. If Aitken is fit i think he will walk straight back in, if not Mann will again start at centre.
My biggest fear is who will cover Nighty ? if Aitken fit i have a horrible feeling he will go for Kaliif Faifai Loa on the wing, only because he has had a lot of 1st grade experience and drop Mann back to the bench. Which would be a tragedy because i would love to see Mann given a full game.

Mann will be fullback because the left edge scored four tiries yesterday between them and you don't mix that up. Mann also had some really strong carries and showed some real ticker and brains in defence yesterday.

Dufty needs some time, but he'll come good. His defensive reads are what's holding him back, but that's just inexperience.

Surely Mann will be FB. If Mary wanted Nighty to play there he would have put him there when Duges came off. Mann will be fine at FB. HOpe he gets another chance there to impress.

Dufty won't get picked but more importantly, how has Dufty actually played in NSW Cup?
He's been all right. Nothing special. Looks like he's trying to build his confidence from that knee injury in the Nines.

Nightingale is good under the high ball and is able to make some ground on kick returns. Has good defensive skills. He is not Dugan so someone else had to play a role in making metres. I like the idea of Mann and Milne on the right with Lafai and Macdonald on the left.

I think that the time for ' testing ' some of the younger brigade at fullback, is not in the next 4 matches , the exception being Mann .

There is going to be a lot of traffic going that way in our next few matches and that being the case , the Dragons need someone who is both proven and more importantly , reliable- Jason Nightingale .

Undoubtedly a bit slower than in previous years , but good under the high ball and can tackle . Safe as houses , unless further injuries strike , he would be the Dragon I would select as our last line of defence , now that Dugan is out .

I don't think the next 5-6 games is the wrong time to blood our young guns, unless we have no choice.

Dufty and Field are both still coming back from injury and not match fit. Once they are match fit and killing it in the Illawarra side, blood them in first grade. Then we can get a good idea on their suitability. If we bring them in now we would most certainly be disappointed.
