Not really, he wants to play fullback for fullback money, if he's getting fullback money I don't think he'd give two shits where he plays

If Dugan re-signs he will play centre and thats where his value will come in not as a fullback.
If you're right and I believe you could be right, why did Millward so urgently sign Aitken - a right centre?

We really should not have to choose Dugan or Packer. Both are in form and both played well last year. These two should have been one of the first players extended.

Yes here I go again, WHAT A MESS, A MILLWARD MESS!

confirmed, he's gone. Packer I mean
Well played the manager of Packer and Dugan. Next, will the Sharks sign Dugan? I'm now over it and think Millward should go after Mitchell and if he can land him, table an offer and pull withdraw the offer to Dugan. It is time Millward manned up and took control of negotiations. The value of the contract is important however, sometimes the timing is more important. Millward is should learn from this BIG mistake.

What a mess.

If they don't want to be part of what lies ahead, they can both can be replaced. They are not superstars
I've come around to the idea of losing Dugan now; he is too expensive for what he can deliver. I think our only other option is Mitchell at the Roosters. At the moment not as strong and robust as Dugan but is young and is first grade ready. I believe he is the best young fullback available and has a bright future.

What we do with Dufty and Field who knows. Mary does not seem to want to test them at fullback so we really don't know if they are ready.

As far as I'm concerned we have lost a key member of our forward pack for no good reason and definitely need to replace him like for like or we will slump back into a re-bulding mode for our forward pack. As far as Dugan is concerned, again a great loss at 750k but let him go at 1m; he is just not worth it.

......... The fact that we have to play an ageing slow winger fullback in his absence is an indication of how important Duges is to the team. This is not a knock on Nighty as I love him(in a manly way)

Hahahaha ...fail. There is no way to make your last comment innocent....in fact it probably made it sound worse.....not that there's anything wrong with that.
Unless....it wasn't meant to be innocent.....????

Tariq Simms can replace what we lose in Packer. Sele, Kerr, Host and soon Lawrie / Hind can replace what Simms offers from the bench. And none of that is going to take any dollars from what we have from Packer leaving.
Sorry love, Sims is not a patch on Packers talent. In my opinion Sims will be struggling to keep his bench spot once Kerr and Lawrie are introduced to first grade. I think in about a year or two, Sele will be the closest to what we had in Packer however, we need to replace like with like or we will lose momentum in our quest to make the GF in 2018/2019.

Duges for me. It will be harder to replace him than Packer. The spine is the crucial piece of a successful team. Look at the Storm Slater/Cronk/Smith. They have had so many forwards come and go in that time yet have been consistent why? Because the spine has been intact.

Dugan/Hunt/McInness is a pretty good spine fellas. Why would you wish to break this for a forward. Plus we are keeping the best of the 2 in Vaughn. Just like the Storm have Bromwich we have Vaughn. I can see Millward is using the Storm structure for our squad. Not a bad move at all.

You make a good point. They're both only internationals. Surely we can pluck another incumbent Aus and NZ player out of thin air with our amazing recruitment team that always lands their target....
So you think we should have matched the offers of $800k per year for Packer, and $1mil per year for Dugan? Not viable, sorry.

Aaron Woods is an international too. You think he is worth what the Dogs are going to be paying him?
