Duges for me. It will be harder to replace him than Packer. The spine is the crucial piece of a successful team. Look at the Storm Slater/Cronk/Smith. They have had so many forwards come and go in that time yet have been consistent why? Because the spine has been intact.

Dugan/Hunt/McInness is a pretty good spine fellas. Why would you wish to break this for a forward. Plus we are keeping the best of the 2 in Vaughn. Just like the Storm have Bromwich we have Vaughn. I can see Millward is using the Storm structure for our squad. Not a bad move at all.
I'd say Dugan is asking too much for what he provides. Mitchell from the Roosters has first grade experience and would be a great addition to our spine at fullback at around half the price.

who would you recruit to replace Packer - like for like or better?

So you think we should have matched the offers of $800k per year for Packer, and $1mil per year for Dugan? Not viable, sorry.

Aaron Woods is an international too. You think he is worth what the Dogs are going to be paying him?

Did I say that? I mocked your suggestion that they could be "replaced".

There is absolutely no way we are poaching Mitchell from the Roosters for half Dugan's asking price.

1) our recruitment team cannot compete with Politis.

2) Mitchell's manager wouldn't be doing his job to shop him at such a low price when everyone knows he is on the verge of superstardom.

I'm fine with Packer leaving, but my only issue is that he reminded me very much of Jeremy Smith and the mongrel he brought to the table. When Smith left, thats when the softness of our forward pack showed it true colours....our response to Packer leaving is what is most important.

The Roosters have signed Tedesco as their long term fullback and actually dropped Mitchell to reserve grade when he complained about this. In addition, the roosters have just signed Chambers as left centre, so it's hard to see them keeping Mitchell happy in first grade.

It is a matter of Millward contacting Mitchells manager and letting him do the heavy lifting for Mitchell. I very much doubt the Roosters are paying Mitchell anywhere near 500k, which should be Millward's target contract price.

All of sudden you have faith in Millward to do something right? Yeah ok.

I didn't say it was the answer but I'm certainly not gonna hang the young fella out to dry over some poor off field choices just yet. We all need time to grow up, even footballers.

It's unfortunate that the young bloke's talent outweighs his maturity, but hopefully with a bit of time he'll come good.

So you think they are irreplaceable? Or did you not say you mocked my suggestion that they could be replaced?

Just got to be sure with all the u turns you make around here.

Haven't made a single u turn. I said we wouldn't be able to replace them like for like. You brought up dollar value, I never mentioned it once. Consider your responses.

Yeah, but you mentioned them being Internationals, yet somehow I believe you don't see Woods (current international) as being a good value signing for Bulldogs. Or maybe you do

And why do they need to be replaced like for like? If we lose Dugan, who is to say that Dufty can't fill that fullback spot successfully. Or say Connor Watson, Tyrone Roberts, etc, for arguments sake. We don't have to sign an international to replace Dugan or Packer to keep our team at the same momentum.
