For all that Farah may bring, it will mean too much money tied up in the position of hooker if we are to keep Rein and Havili.
It really throws an imbalance to the squad and would mean less money available for the next number of years in trying to entice some decent backs.
Wouldn't be something I would do unless a currently contracted hooker leaves of his own free will.

Agree. Would need to be rid of Rein methinks. But after Twenty10's mail, I'm pretty sure that means he isn't coming!

Not so sure about signed yesterdayTwenty10... Last week there was all likely hood ... And I understand he had told 'people' he would be.

Has an offer been made?

The ego won't let him let go of his beloved..He is not wanted .. Had been told so, but is clinging on desperately. Surely the 'healthy' thing for all, including himself, would be to move on.

Would he be an asset to us.. Of course he would if it was well planned... But time has slipped away, and now the very big risk of being reactionary and destabilization raises its head.

But then again, we seem to have that in our recent history.

Absolutely an offer has been made. Though it's more a negotiation on price with tigers. Make no mistake... The Dragons want him. Mary doesn't want rein.

Farah is seen as the missing link from being w true contender. 80 minute hooker who is the blues dummy half. Rein is far too inconsistent and isn't a match winner. That's also FACT.

Couldn't really care if people don't believe this. It's true (or FACT as Como would say).

I prefer to win a comp in the next two to three years with Farah aboard and worry about the future young hooker then. I think Mary would also. FACT

Was a strange comment. Admitting his signing would bring us closer to a premiership but not wanting him to sign anyway.

If you don't punctuate with FACT does that automatically make it a lie?

Lol, just a good way of integrating the more quirky style of some forum members.

Hell, when I do it tongue in cheek, I am immediately set upon.

Fishing has taught me, set the bait right and the fish will strike.

I'm torn on this one.....

While signing Farrah definitely improves us, I'm not so sure it guarantee's us a premiership in the next 2-3 years. He is also likely to be missing during the origin period, has a reputation for causing disharmony in a club and is on the wrong side of 30......

....... on the other hand, his standard of play is still high and he definitely has a point to prove wherever he plays next year. His game is far more diverse then Reins and while he is likely to decline somewhat as he gets older his signing would allow us to go after a gun 17-20 year old hooker who would find the prospect of learning from Farrah and being Guaranteed a starting spot in 2-3 years time a lot better then being stuck behind a hooker in his mid-twenties knowing they will battle it out for a first grade spot eventually. Also it seems as though the Tigers are prepared to pay most of his contract so if we could pick him up cheaper the Rein it would be a good move.

I'm learning towards yes to Farrah, but it would obviously depend on rein leaving.... isn't room for both of them cap wise.

Nothing guarantees a premiership. Signing a top level hooker is a good way of giving a team the best chance.

If that's true (NMO)best chase Friend
Have trouble understanding the current fascination around RF
Farrah's record
SOO Career wins 39%.
Last 4 years at club level wins 42%.
With players breaking contracts willy nilly and all the disharmony at WT over the last number of years why hasn't some other club wanting the so called x factor to win a premiership picked him up. Please don't tell me it is the loyalty factor.
He looks ok amongst the rabble he plays with in club games and against weaker club sides but at the elite level of club games which is what you have to beat to win a comp no stats to show he makes the difference.

Watch Farah's performances in the last 2 Origin series and tell me he couldn't win a Premiership with the right players around him.

Definitely a big game player, I'd feel very comfortable with him in the side. I hold zero hopes it will happen though.

Paul Gallens stats would be similar....you rate Gallen the same way?

No one is proposing to buy Gallen but I would also oppose that as well. However his efforts with Cronulla obviously achieved a much better outcome than Farrah's at WT.
I would not pick him in my SOO nor Farrah, nor Pearce, nor Bird nor any of the long term losing players that keep getting picked. What have they actually done where are the results? If you owned the SOO team and they were your employees and kept turning in losing results you would have sacked most of them long ago.
The idea that 1 player can turn our fortunes around staggers me.
It appears that from the arguments put forward that some believe we have a superior team that underperformed all most exclusively due to Rein and Farrah will magically fix that.
Face reality we do not have a superior team that can be fixed by 1 player we have a a bit better than average team that needs some serious input from the coaching staff, a proper game plan, a captain that plays the entire game and a few good players in key positions and then we might compete for an entire season and finish top 4.

Farah has been part of two coaches getting the sack at the Tigers. If he stays he will help lead a third to the door. No thanks. When did the Tigers win bwith him in the team .....10 years ago. Maybe it says more about the team than him but one player will never be the messiah.....hang on, there is Souths and Burgess.

There is but one messiah and his name is Bennett. Agree with all you say right here.
