Philosophical question for you all:

What exactly constitutes a bogan? Do they have to be assholes and generally woeful parents? Are there levels of bogan?

there are definitely levels of bogan..

let's take me for example..

  • i love cars, and am seriously considering getting a HSV wagon for the next family car
  • my kids names have different spelling to normal..
  • i love a good vb
  • about 5 years ago had a rats tail. not for a bet or to be ironic. but because i like them
  • love my rock music
  • have been to summernats
  • can sing off by heart most cold chisel and midnight oils songs
  • my favourite restaurant is hogs breath
  • dress my baby kids up in football jerseys
  • dress my wife up in a football jersey
  • i've had 6 different commodores
yet, despite the above list, i'm probably as far from the stereotypical bogan as you can get..

so yes, there are degrees of boganism.. i'm on the scale, and i'm proud of it...
Muz, nowhere have you mentioned the good old flannelette shirt. This alone means that you are not a bogan my good man - everything else above is null and void with the good old flannelette! Therefore my friend, you are normal :D Although if Mrs Muz was to wearing a flannelette................

shall we take it to a vote?
Ignore him/her/it Muzby. Everyone here knows this thread died when you left it. DKoR should be grovelling at your feet right about now!

By the way, my vote on you being a drain on this forum is... Negative! You are not a drain on this forum.

How smart is Google Chrome? Just got my new PC installed at work today and I went to install chrome. It asked me to sign in as Administrator to continue. I accidentally clicked cancel, and as I went to reload the page, then it gave me the option to install it without admin rights  Very clever!

Sprung a major water leak under the house. Insurance assessor estimates $1800 to re-floor and Lino my bathroom... Thank god for low premiums, I will only have to fork out $400.

Tough go mate. Hopefully it's patched up soon. What caused it?

Rubbish piping, Got it fixed. Showed the assessor the pipes involved; and he said straight out, "I assess three of these a week, Dux Quest is garbage you are lucky it isnt worse, most other insurance companies only fix this once, but ####### will cover it twice." thank got my plumber told me the prob from the start, and he changed all of that piping.

The things you learn to look for when buying your first house.

Yep - always make sure you get a building report before buying. The thing with plumbing is that nowadays in Australia most (if not all) plumbers use plastic pipes as opposed to terracotta. Terracotta are prone to break or collapse very easily with movements under the ground, as well as other things like strong roots growing in their path, whereas plastic pipes don't collapse and weeds etc... will only catch them to bend slightly, not affecting them a great deal.
