Dumbest play ever on a footy field

The saying probably gets thrown around a lot but honestly reckon what Junior Pauga did today is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on a footy field. Up by 6 with 7 minutes to go, opposition does a short drop out which isn’t going 10 and he inexplicably touches it. Instead of getting a penalty, making it 24-16 and game over he concedes a penalty, saints March down the field, score and end up winning the game.

The only other completely mind numbing play I could think of was Josh Reynolds throwing the ball to the titans when he thought he’d gone out on halftime.

Yep. Honestly could barely believe it. It actually crossed my mind that he must have taken a punt on the game because no one could be that stupid.

I’m surprised how many players don’t understand most of the rules, especially common ones.you can’t expect them to know every rule but it’s their job to be footy smart

It’s up there - there was nothing to gain from h being anywhere near that ball, but it’s that lack of attention to detail that sits us where we are.

I'd say there's a full catalogue of material for the NQ Cowboys between 2008-2010.

Some hilarious moments with Michael Bani and Shannon Hegarty on the wings......

Will Chambers did something similar in the 2009 grand final.

Didn't matter to the record books though.

Paul Carriage had a few moments in that game. The chip and chase on the bell is one such moment? However he also made a running jumping catch on a cross field bomb that was going out on the full by a long way. That was the moment Sterlo lost it with him on commentary making the game all the more legendary.

A few posts already and no fkn mention of Justin Hodges origin debut. Not once but twice passing inside his own goal line.

Also f**king Billy Slater dropping the world cup (passing the ball to Kiwi player to score winning try) f**k me I've hated him since

There were a lot of dumb plays in yesterday's game. Tautau Moga's intercept effort certainly takes the silver medal yesterday. All he had to do was to run inside the field and cop the tackle.....would have been a job well done as Saints would have been a great chance to score off the next play. Instead, he gets himself bundled to touch.

I reckon we should expect them to know every single rule! Being professional and all
