Yeah I know

Ahh classic Hagan
Along the lines of signing Reynoldson to replace an apparently injury prone BK! That was Hagan at his best. BK was the greatest signing this club ever had from outside. Parra fans owe us an apology on this forum cos i remember them giving it to us about Smithy last year. Well we are doing fine.

Completely off topic and random.. only cos someone brought up Hages

I had a really bad dream last night... Smith retired as coach at the end of 09 and Hagan returned as head coach in 2010..

Hagan let go Kurt and Steve as he wanted to bring over Daniel Wagon and Justin Ryder... we played the Roosters in Rd 1 and got belted 46-8 at Newcastle. After the game .. Hagan did a lap of honour on a float that said "Supercoach" ....

The Crusade jumped the fence and set the float on fire and the crowd jumped the fence and belted Hagan!! The Grannies were hitting him with their purses and kicking him with their slippers! Hagan quit the next day and we had a new coach.....

YOSH!

He got rid of Wes and Keith cos they "arent really good" .. he put Aku in the top grade and tried to get Perry to come back...He was well known as the coach with the most outlandish statements such as .. "McManus/Uate will be the next Gidley/Tahu and will play for the Blues! Also Vuna/Uate are the new Sailor/Tuquiri.

Then I woke up as soon as Perry and Yosh were shaking hands on a new deal ...

Random I know lol

when you sign a plethora of fringe players you're going to get some duds. there are more successes than failures in the group.

I agree mate. I think he has had remarkable success with his buys.

Of his big spendings though, I think Cross is the only one to show a return on investment though.

there's something f**king up with the forums.. i wrote up a big post to go with this quote and it didn't go through.. fabulous...

anyway, long story short, i don't believe cross has provided us anywhere near close to the money we would be paying him thus far. i think in terms of value for money he's near the bottom. we need to re-sign royal ASAP.

i do think our "cheap buys" are providing much more value for money than our "marquee" signings.

Naiqama would qualify as both IMO. He is our second highest profile signing and is on peanuts. Best value for money would be between he and Hilder.

Cross has done nothing at the Knights to date. He had a shocker against the Storm, the rest of the time he's been injured. He's done a lot of talking but produced nothing for us yet. I wasn't real fussed when he came out the other day saying he was hoping to be back for the Roosters game so he could push for another Origin game. Like I said in another post, that sounds like Adam McDougall talking.

Cross has been great for us in the games he has played, his Melbourne performance aside.

He brings far more to the team then what you see on the paddock.

His attitude and proffesionalism has rubbed off on the forward pack in a way that is difficult to measure.

Much of the packs improvement is from Smith and staff, but a lot of the improvement has come from Cross.

From memory he's played two games.

I wasn't expecting our 'marquee singings' to come into the club and start tearing the place up, especially seeing as we have a totally different team. I did expect all the new guys to come in here and show us why Smith chose them and to show us fans that they are going to give 100%. I think they have done that, as the season goes on I think we will see Cross and Naiqama etc will hit top form, hopefully at the right end of the season.

Well I'm with Perverse. I think the fringe guys have performed far better than the so called upper level players. In fact they've performed way above expectations. To be fair Cross hasn't had much opportunity, but if he's going to talk himself up like he did he needs to back it up soon.

Injury has not helped his cause.

He was good against the Broncos, great considering it was his first game of the year.

His next two were also very solid.

Then Melbourne, which was well below expectations.

One bad game in three, with no game time under his belt..... maybe we are expecting a little much from him.
