DWZ

DWZ, Roberts and Oates are all class backs. Any two of these players would drastically upgrade our backline. In my opinion our centre positions are the weak link in our attack.

Pearson will demonstrate this week his ability to play right wing.
Lomax will demonstrate this week his ability to play fullback.
After June 30, Saab will demonstrate his ability to play left wing.

So if Millward could land one or two of the three players (DWZ, Roberts and Oates), we would be on our way to solving a problem that frankly should have been addressed prior to the start of season 2019.

With respect to DWZ, People are remembering the highlights reel stuff. I remember when Tariq stripped the ball off and sprinted away to score the winning try. I remember when he was bundled into touch twice against the Broncos when bringing the ball back from kicks. I remember last weeks collision with his own team member because neither of them called for the ball. I remember - actually I don't remember him having a kicking game. He is a good broken play runner, but so what? So is Dufty.

Stop wasting Millwards time and money on players we don't need.

Give it a rest .
Same thing every time a player is of contract.
It is becoming repetitive
The posts from possm are delusional. We should sign every single player on the market and if we don't, Millward's an idiot for not agreeing with him. Although I suppose if we had a roster of 400 and could put 34 players on the field we'd be a lot harder to beat.

I don’t think you can compare Dufty and DWZ - DWZ was probably one of the best fullbacks last year. He’s not happy at the panthers for obvious reasons and can’t get a start. He’s a good player, who catches and runs very fast. He rarely dropped the ball, and he’s quick and smart. Defensively a heap better than Dufty who can’t stop anyone once they break the line.

I’m pretty sure he carved us up in that game, despite the one on one strip. Agree he’s inconsistent but he is a great kick returner

Millward is not up to the job, all you have to do is look at the backline he delivered for season 2019. Blind faith in a corrupt SGI official will not get our Club out of this mess however, I remain hopeful that Pearson on the right wing and Lomax at fullback may be a step in the right direction.

Millward should where ever possible replace players in our squad like for like and when doing so ensure the first grade side has top quality players before he goes off buying bargain basement backup players.

Sorry Dragonsamy I will always call out what I see to be corrupt activity in our Club. I will always appreciate your posts and be interested in your point of view. In the end you will own that point of view, now and in the future.

Good to be loyal and we need that on this forum however it is clear to me that the decsions made some seasons ago now (Mary as head coach and his coaching staff and Millward as our Pathways/Recruitment ……..) will go down as a huge mistake in the SGI history books.

This is the problem we face within the forum and amongst SGI fans. We have our favourite players and want them to succeed and so any threat to their progression is talked down. Even though it is good to support our players (my all time favourites Changa Langlands and Billy Smith) we must be realistic and always be open to having the very best squad to choose from.

In my opinion, DWZ, Roberts and Oates are each far superior to any one of our outside backs.

"corrupt SGI official" is a strong statement (which I assume the mods would be looking at...)
What evidence do you have of corruption?

My referece is related to the manner in which he was appointed to his current job.

Even if Penrith pay part of his salary this year he will demand a 3 year contract after this year. Now he is rumored to be on 700 to 800k next year so for the last 2 years of his contract would you expect the club to fork out 700k or over for him ?

Just don't worry about that - the price. Millward will solve the money problem and Gordon will arrange the TPA.

He'd be lucky to be on half that. He's not Tedesco or Slater you know. Not even RTS. He was signed as a winger who could play fullback at a pinch.

Seemed a bit high to me but that is what was reported by one of the jornos in the Telegraph. I'd say he is on a back ended contract to get that amount.
