he is not winging, that how he plays.
the goss was leaked in a way to make it hard for dykes to return to the club.
it was instigated by neither any player or coach

Where did he go where he had to return?
As far as I knew, he was here last weekend?
I don't understand this bit about the leak. What leak? The fact that Weidler said people arent happy with Kimmorley at the Sharks?
Geezus everybody knows that.

I wonder if it's got anything to do with the club and John Dykes not having the most cordial of relations.

I'd imagine John Dykes will be extremely proud to see Adam in the red and green.

On Dykesy leaving . . . I see it as positive. In fact, any player that wants out can go. Bailey will be next. f*ck it clean em all out and start again.

That has some truth McSharkie, you want the players to want to be at the club and bleed for the club. But why are they unhappy in the first place? How come it's been so frequent since the end of 2001? You can clear them out but unless the underlying problem of sh*te management/coaching etc isn't solved people will keep wanting to leave. The player turnover of last 3 years alone has been enormous.

I agree. I don't care if we dont make the 8 next years, but just sh*t can all the f**kwits who don't want to play with a bit of passion. It's just a crying f**kign shame that we cant piss off Kimmorley.

The board, the coach and the captain supply the direction. The players follow it or leave. It's that simple.

As members/stakeholders, if we don't like the direction those mentioned have supplied then it is up to us to demand change. Organising it is the problem.

I don't have a big problem with it either, it looks to me like they are bringing in a roster that is almost all young players with potential much like the Tigers have done over the last couple of years.

These players can grow together while older teams like Melbourne the Roosters and Brisbane etc.. fall away and have to rebuild for a few years. At least thats what I hope they are doing .... and I hope it pays off, the big issue is I can't see a Benji or Prince in that lot yet. :?

For a start I'll say categorically that is bullsh*t. John Dykes has NO problems with the club, he remains a season ticet holder as he has done right through Adam's career, even while he was at Parra, remains a member of both football and Leagues clubs and is a regular visitor to the club on game days where he speaks to everyone.

I tell you If we didn't have covell in the team I'd be worried.

It was a good thing I didn't get overly excited about these mass signings, otherwise I'd be PISSED.

Perhaps as a Sharks fan its better just to accept disapointment as the norm.

Any tips from the old hands?

I played against one of those f**kers once, he was f**ken HUGE.

we were all "supposed" to be 16 and this fat bastard looked like he weighed 140 kg no lie, no one could tackle the bastard and I was playing fullback:roll:

Everytime I tried to tackle him I kept bouncing off and Im not exactly a small guy.

I was convinced the school caged him, fed him roids and raw meat and only let him out at game time.

Looking back over the year

The Sharks have played well with both Noddy and Dykes at the helm by themselves at different times. Seems one or the other is good for the team but together they don't really "gel" - (there's an old fave that was for a time banned )

A lot of the talk last year centred around not having a 5/8 to take pressure off Noddy. So we bought the 5/8 Raper wanted.

The irony is that we got the man the coach wanted but it hindered rather than helped Noddy it seems.

So did he actually need an established 6 or did we just get the wrong type to compliment Noddy?

Either way someone has made a gross error of judgement it would seem.

One really has to wonder what this so called new direction will be.

I see a lot of the old "give me a halfback and 2 good props" style in Raper. 2006 looks like being another year of boring, attrition style footy. 1 playmaker and an overabundance of forwards with next to no depth in the backs.

so true CJS,

I hardly (Ok I may have missed a couple of games) ever noticed noddy and Dykes combining for tries, it was usually thanks to just one of them. It did kind of cause some disharmony with the breaking up of the play, but whose to say that wouldn't have happened anyway.

ok so we tried making Noddy the dominant Playmaker and that didn't work. When he's there by himself its too easy to shut down the sharks by shutting down Noddy, plus if he got injured or was playing rep footy (not much chance of that happening I know) we were fuct.

Now having an extra playmaker there to ease Noddy's load doesn't work either.

Im scratching my head to think wtf they will come up with next. Whatever it is I doubt it will be anymore successful than the last 2 attempts. of that we are assured being Sharkie fans :(

Well with the news that it's the Sharks that want this release and not Dykes, I take what I said back. Releasing him is brainless if he wants to stay.

How many times are you gonna say that?

Just face it [I know you have], we have no control.

I'll take your word for it, but a few years back there were reports that John Dykes was rather upset the club wouldn't appoint him to the lower grades coaching staff. The latest news feeds we're getting make this topic more or less irrelevant though.
