Dylan Walker Appreciation Thread

Well deserved.

I wasn't upset at his signing, but rather wondering how he would contribute and fit in given we had Moses, Brown (at least until the end of the year), and Hands/Smith/Lussick/Hopgood already in the mix.

But Walker's skill and talent and experience is just what we've needed to balance out some of the inexperience and inconsistency that has let us down in early part of the season. Bravo Dylan W and Ryles for making it happen.... everything's starting to gel through the squad, and no one person/star is now elemental to everything in our chances of winning.

Walker as a small ball lock off the bench is working great. I am not against him starting 2026 as our 5/8 but we need to be brave and buy a running 5/8 or push up someone like Lorenzo. Don’t boo me, but gee it’s going to tough to find a defender even close to Dylan. I hope that we don’t end up with someone that needs a bodyguard in such a crucial position.

I mentioned Lorenzo, but a question for the merkins who actually know juniors, is his body big enough for NRL 5/8 ?

He has moved up to Flegg now and is starting to look better. Ran well and defended well. His size could be an issue but hasn't stopped other small merkins from playing in the NRL.

Shame we did hold onto sanders, a left foot kicker would be a huge advantage
It's funny dat. Reminds me when we lost Tonga coz we have vaeliki and judas and then judas nails

We had maloney and hodgkinson who both played soo but they left coz we had somewhere at halves too. Was it tim Smith or was it Morts and cleary mk i

Jerome Hughes, Adam Reynolds , even Dearden is no physical giant , experience and growth from 18/19:years old all assist.
