$650NZD wow. You get ripped worse than we do.

Lmao. WTF!?

Don't they want to hand out achievements just for watching TV shows as well? Damn M$ have failed gamers hard with this.

:lol:I thought $650 NZ was a great price. I expected both machines to be up $800+ sort of price.

I just cannot believe how badly M$ have ****ed up so royally. It baffles me that they have been so bad. It's like they listened to consumers, ignored them arrogantly thinking they'd 'suck it up' anyway...then got blindsided by Sony who did listen to customers and beat them with better, cheaper, and less user restrictive. Only a price drop and backdown will save them, and even then they've pissed people off so much it may be too late. IMO they're toast.

Who cares? It's still cheaper and better than the XBO, and a lot cheaper than the previous PS consoles on launch

The difference people will argue, is that Xbox One has the Kinect, while PS4 doesn't have it's PSeye and will likely cost $70-$100..Don't want it personally, but people will use it to say Xbox is cheaper.

Pretty sure I read that the PS Eye will cost $49, which means if you get it and the console, it's still cheaper than the XBO

Actually I think I might be wrong with the price, but still, it's not something that I find essential, and I'm happy that Sony aren't forcing me to buy it and have it connected to my system

Which is great, you can choose to have it or not, or can get it later if you decide. All good for keeping the price down when you're not forced to buy stuff you don't want. And forcing you to do things is why Microsoft was behind the eight ball from the word go in the first place.;-)

Halo 5 is the only exclusive I would want the Xbox One for. And no game is worth $700.

I think I will just stick with my 360 until they stop making games, and use the money on a new PC.

Sony knocked it out of the park for mine and PS4 looks to be my next console

Microsoft will have to play catch up in a huge way

Same for me, total knockout punch by Sony. For Microsoft to get some ground back they will need a price drop and a backdown on their restrictions. And even then I still think most will go for PS4 anyway. I know I will.

Does anyone have a summary of E3? I am looking through trailers on youtube but I would like to have a list of all the games revealed.

$549 is a great price, I remember hearing a few months back it was going to be around $900.

I'll keep my PS3 until a rugby league game is released on PS4.

EB Games did have $899 as the placeholder price. Always knew it would be lower, I was expecting something around $700, so even though we're still get a massive price hike compared to the rest of the world, it was somewhat pleasant surprise to see the price.

Pricing excellent for both compared to last gen.

Sony have given MS the turkey slapping they deserve on DRM and online only.

PS Plus being required for online isn't such a big deal, it was an almost too good to be true service with the game library anyway.

XBL Gold including a game library is a massive bonus.

Sony is currently winning for me purely because of the DRM/online issues, and the fact that Halo 5 isn't releasing this year.

But none of that matters, because Nintendo will win E3 without even having a real conference. At midnight tonight :)

(I'm gonna get all 3 eventually, and building a half decent gaming PC in the next 2 weeks)

PS4 is superior in every way to the Xbox One, but I think I'll be getting both on launch. The prices are pretty reasonable, tbh.

I do feel cheated for buying the Xbox One, but I just prefer the controller. That Ryse game looks pretty bad ass, too.

It's interesting to see the divergence of DRM between Sony and Microsoft.

Back in the blu-Ray/HD DVD battle days it was sony pushing for greater DRM with blu ray but Microsoft backed the much less restrictive HD DVD.
