Next season is most likely Burt's last at NRL level. We should see a replacement coming through next year. Atkins is solid at best.

Humble might even be worth a go. If he can play fullback then he should be able to play wing.

McGuire was right next to Foran when Williams put the kick in. Foran sprinted, McGuire jogged. Sure he must have been stuffed but still, Foran just wanted it more.

Foran is a winner; Manly are on a hot streak.

When you're a 'big time player' (like Foran), and your team is on top of the heap (like Manly) then things tend to go your way.

Where was Hindmarsh? 99 times out of 100 he would've somehow cleaned that up. But hey - it's an arsey kick that somehow stayed in and somehow Foran got there to steal the win.

I'm chuffed with the way the boys played. If they keep playing like they have the last 4-5 weeks, we'll be in the top 8 this season without a doubt.

We need outside backs, both wingers are replaceable, we lost overall becuase Stewart and Williams killed us with speed.

The requirement is backs with some real speed, the centres did Ok, forwards basically outplayed the highly rated Moanly pack, Robbo is rocks and diamonds but doesnt contribute when we need to finish a set and he is under pressure. and no speed.

Burt and Atkins would struggle to get a long run at NRL level at most clubs, we need to make that position a priority, Allgood stepped up again, Lassalo went better I think than most give him credit for

Speed is the real need

I've been saying this in other posts, we need wingers with speed. Atkins is so slow and Burt would never run into a defence like David Williams does.

I Know Jacob Gagan is still very young, but he has the size and speed. Ken Sio would have been good to have

Yeah actually quite a few times last night his no look passes went to nobody. Before they have gone right over the sideline. Marshall is another player who does them and they don't always come off either.

But I guess Hayne is invincible and every mistake he makes wasn't his fault. Sorry I forgot I'm not allowed to criticise him.

I don't think anyone is saying you can't criticise him. More that you should put it in context. Yes 1 of the times the pass went forward, however that was when we were chasing the miracle play to win the game. 2 times previously the passes led to tries.
Constructive criticism is fine, however you can't expect a guy who is our only point of attack and touches the ball 50+ times a game to never make a mistake, especially when he has to create everything.

I must have been watching different game last night. Eels were pathetic. Some of the players needs to play for Wenty next week and that includes Hayne, Hindmarsh. Hindmarsh is not 80 minutes player. He is slow and predictable. He takes ages to pass. Hayne is lazy as usual. Other than 40-20 and a pass he did not nothing. I cannot see what is the positive from the last night's game. Burt forgot how to kick. We let 2 tries because we were lazy in our defense. And people think we can win next 8 games ... dream on folks....
