In keeping with Perth Red I believe the Perth Whingers would be appropriate. What would a potential Perth NRL franchise be called?
perth pirates?
Perth western pirates?
Western pirates?

Seem like pretty good financials to me.The more I look at it the more it makes sense for the Firehawks to win the license (presuming the financials stack up). Predominantly focussed on the S and SE section of metro Brisbane which is easy travel to Suncorp they could partner with Seagulls as their reserve garde and geographically make sense. Jets would work best when Ipswich region grows and they get a stadium out there and Dolphins branded as North Brisbane Dolphins could target the northern region down the track and either keep developing redcliffe stadium or play out of Suncorp.
Firehawks it is for me!

Western suburbs merged with Canterbury to form the west Sydney bulldogs playing out of Liverpool.Balmain tigers move to Brisbane , merge with the Brisbane tigers
All the more reason to bring in the Firehawks and associate them with Seagulls and Magpies.Firehawks launch bid to become NRL's 17th team - theTigers.com.au
By Brad Walter/NRL.com Senior Reporter The Brisbane Firehawks have launched their bid to become the NRL’s 17th franchise and the fourth Queensland team from 2023....thetigers.com.au
Pretty sure they still plan to run the Brisbane Tigers in the QRL first grade and all the juniors rep sides. They also run the Carina club and associated junior teams.
It would make sense to affiliate with the Seagulls. Broncos would not be happy.
I've come around to preferring Firehawks over Tigers. It's unique.Balmain tigers move to Brisbane , merge with the Brisbane tigers
Apparently Firehawks have linked up with major grassroots club according to courier mail, anyone know which club?
What on earth makes you think that?So the Tigers withdraw from the QRL?
Firehawks are doing everything right. Bring them in now.
Ipswich is important, but is it ready for a team of its own?Catchment that should be focused on is south western Brisbane
I think its fine for pre season games, and if it adds to revenue, the odd low drawing NRL game. CQ is due to get a decent stadium upgrade for the Olympics so makes some sense to utilise it and build a secondary fanbase. GWS has done alright out of Canberra. The Firehawks playing NRL matches in Rockhampton is a stupid idea by the way.
What is the obsession with teams playing games all over the f**king place; it's not good for building fanbases at home (i.e. your supposed target audience), it doesn't build long term sustainable fanbases in the region you are playing in (unless you plan to play there forever lol), and it dilutes your clubs identity.
The only reasons a club should play home games away are if A. your club is desperate for the money, or B. the sport is using the games to gage interest in a new market.
Not really, its too far from Suncorp and doesnt have its own stadium. I guess if our ambition is small clubs with 20k members,12k crowds and $10mill revenues it makes sense to bring in all these suburban clubs ala Sydney. I'd hope the NRL's ambitions might be bigger than that though one day.Ipswich is important, but is it ready for a team of its own?
If the Firehawks already need the sort of revenue that selling home games brings then they aren't the right team for an NRL license.I think its fine for pre season games, and if it adds to revenue, the odd low drawing NRL game. CQ is due to get a decent stadium upgrade for the Olympics so makes some sense to utilise it and build a secondary fanbase.
But has Canberra done alright out of GWS though?!GWS has done alright out of Canberra.
