Sounds like a word that a public servant might use in a performance review..

No, I'd just had a few drinks after work, and watched a snarky chick fall off her chair before 6pm.
I might be smarter than Pou, but then again I might not be. I could also sit on the fence like a smug bastard.

Where were you?
Tilley's believe it or not. This woman and her much more sober friend had obviously knocked off both a) early and b) a few bottles of wine in the sun. Her friend went to the bar and this high-heeled idiot tried to stand up but apparently her right foot was placed firmly under her left foot. She then abused everyone (well, me) who tried to check whether she was ok. She may well have consumed some other substances as well
Do you get to Tillleys much? I've never found it the type of place someone settles in for a big drinking session!
Be honest, Barry. You said "Oops-a-daisy" to her didn't you? You smug merkin.
I think you are conflating some different arguments here. The point is to get the defense on the back foot at the time the ball is played. It is true that 'going forward' doesn't necessarily mean running one pass off the ruck a la the old days.....but it does mean running forward with purpose. That may be more than one pass of the ruck...but early in most tackled counts playing basketball is not productive.
God, I hate it when people use that word. It is an absolutely boring, pseudo-intellectual word. It should be banned. I'm very disappointed in you.
I go there every couple of weeks or so I guess. I live a few hundred yards away, so it is handy if you fancy a beer/wine/bistro style meal after work....can walk there and back...don't have to worry about the car etc, no dickheads trying to fight each other, plenty of seats outside. It's not usually the place for people to go on a bender, but since they've had their Friday happy hours, they do get quite a bit of student business (i.e. they turn up and buy 20 drinks each b/w 5.30 and 6.30). Normally it's the Wig and Pen for me on a Friday though.

Yeah ok, what's doing with the Wig and Pen? I hear it's closing eventually and the brewer there is opening his own place in Braddon next month.
Ive been hitting the George Harcourt up recenty. Similar to yourself, it is not too far from my place.
The brewer (Richard) is opening his place in Braddon very soon (he left the Wig a little while ago). Both Lachie (the owner) and another staff member are experienced brewers so there's no big problem there. The last time I spoke to the owner (mid-Jan), he was confident of moving a few hundred metres down the road to a purpose built section of Llewellyn Hall...going to take the facade from the existing pub and re-install it over there. That wasn't 100% confirmed at the time.
