18 players polling in the top three throughout the season.

Meaning a best side based on these votes would look something like this (positions debatable):

1. Burt/Hayne
2. Hayne/Burt
3. Tautai
4. Reddy
5. Grothe
6. K Keating
7. Finch
8. Moimoi
9. M Keating
10. Cayless
11. Hindmarsh
12. Robinson
13. Mateo

14. Inu
15. Riddell
16. Hauraki
17. Paulo
18. Williams

that shows just how bad a year that Inu had, and how overpaid he is

Eels player of the year-DAVID WILLIAMS- um, that's right, hopeless Hagan punted the kid and he now plays for Manly and Australia. Another local kid not given a go. Hagan won't make it until the end of 09.

Fui Fui was robbed ... for third place. He had a very good year and we were deadset ordinary whenever he wasn't on the field.

In regards to Inu, remember that he missed a decent part of the season too. Needless to say he was well down on last year's form, but only by about the same degree as Hayne.

Mateo prob would have given it a shake had it not been for injury. Well done to Hindy! He definitely had a great year too.

Good point on Inu. He was disappointing except for his first two games back, but the guy sat out the first major chunk of the season with injury.

Hayne had a lot more opportunities on the paddock, and came out with dribble for a much longer time before showing any effort/skill/talent/commitment.

What an ordinary season, Hindy's consistency and Mateo's individual skill aside.

Again, I think Fui Fui can hold his head up alongside Hindmarsh and Mateo. Everyone else had a deadset shocker.
