Good opening set for the Eels. After f**king the ball down the left, Lussick nearly put Folau into space but the centre wasn't able to get traction on the worn ground. Lussick completes the set with a nifty kick that pins the Dogs in their red zone.

The Dogs complete the return set and hoof the ball down field where it is retrieved by Leva Li. Simple stuff for Parra in this set as Pritchard controls things around the ruck.

Lussick bombs the Canterbury fullback on the last but he takes the ball comfortably just in front of his goal line. The Dogs bring the ball down our left and make some solid in roads before some heavy contact looks to have forced a turnover.

Surprisingly, the referee packs a scrum with a Bulldogs feed...

Not really sure what happened there but tensions flare up in the scrum, causing the ref to bring both captains out. Hang on a second, the feed has gone to Parra! No idea what has happened!

Matterson feeds a nice short ball to Aloiai down the left but Parra drop the ball from Josh's offload. Another incomplete set from the Eels.

The Dogs come down our right edge but Parra mark up well and there is a sloppy play the ball after a Folau tackle that turns possession over.

Lussick finds Morris down the right as the Eels posture for a left edge shift. Matterson handles the ball in consecutive tackles, feeding in a grubber on the second time round. The Eels don't find a repeat set from the play but do pin the Dogs on their line.

Canterbury struggle for metres coming out but a clever kick gets the ball far downfield.

Parra catch the Dogs out with a lovely face ball to Lavaka who steams 30m downfield before he is taken and held down for a penalty.

The home team work the ball to the left of the posts where Kaysa decides it is time for another attempt at burrowing over. He enjoys success this time around and scores next to the posts!

The conversion is successful.

Lavaka has failed to stand up after a hit up. He clasped his right knee but was then able to get up and play the ball. Phew, that would be a pretty big loss there.

Makelim pinches some metres down the left edge before Markus flies onto a hit up down the middle.

Matterson sends up a testing bomb on that last. The Canterbury custodian fails to bring it in and it takes a wicked turn to the in goals where the Parra chase, lead by Matterson pin the fullback inside!

Right edge shift now or Parra. Makelim does well to hold on to the ball and beat a few defenders before he is taken.

Matterson wants the ball own the left and looks for a grubber. It takes a deflection and I have no idea how the defender that cleans it up was onside!

Big meters and a good kick take the Dogs down field in reply but Makelim takes a difficult kick beautifully. The metres don't come easily for Parra this set but the Eels have lady luck on their side as Matterson's midfield bomb is lost forwards by the Dogs.

Good, composed footy there! Matterson is the chief architect as he puts Davis into an overlap with a blocker play. Davis then puts Li over down the left!

The conversion is unsuccessful.

Parra lock the scores up at 18-all.

Kaufusi is first up from the kick off reception. Kamikamica takes the next charge and is followed by Li.

Matterson turns Aloiai back on the inside to bring up the last. He then takes the kick but it isn't a great one as he picks out the #1 for Canterbury. A good kick chase minimises the damage though.

The Dogs drive the ball into our red zone but a poor bomb gives Davis an age to clean the ball up in goals.

20m restart for the Eels.

Davis and Tui take the first hit ups and then Lavaka comes in field for a charge. Matterson throws the dummy down the left and nearly breaks through but some good cover defence from the inside nails him.

Lussick sends the ball up on the last but it is taken well and then the Eels concede another penalty for breaking the 10m mark too early.

Close stuff now as the Dogs look to have made space down our right. Lavaka does well to get a hand to the money ball but obviously gives up a repeat set.

A loose pass tkae the ball back to the 20m mark as Davis races up to dive on attacker. The Dogs come down their left but a belter of a tackle from Folau kills the play.

The Dogs immediately switch play back to our left edge and roll the ball in goals but some phenomenal work from Leva Li not only gets the ball out in the field of play but he then links up with Davis who sorties down field. Davis is pulled down but the Eels come flying downfield in support for the next play and while Folau goes within centremtres on scoring on the next tackle, debutante Jack Morris does better and crosses down the right!

The conversion is successful.

Parra are back in front 24-18

Raeli and Makelim take the early charges. Markus goes next and keeps control of the ball despite some heavy contact. Jack Morris steams onto a Lussick pass but loses control of the pill as he heads into the line.

Bulldogs ball just past halfway.

More possession for the Dogs as a clever run from dummy half finds Davis (?) out at marker. The ref blows another penalty for what may have been a high shot. Hard to tell what happened there but the Dogs get a reset on the tackle count.

Massive play from Matterson! He shoots from the line and intercepts a long, looping pass and it takes 70m before the Dogs can reel him in!

Somehow the Dogs aren't hit with being offside. Parra go to their left but fail to breach the line so they come back to Lussick on the last who kicks for Lavaka again. Lavaka times his run nicely but can't repeat his earlier effort. The ref rules that he knocked on in the contest, much to the outrage of the vocal home crowd.

The #6 for the Dogs (Robbie Kamoto?) nearly cut through but Makelim stops him at the death. They run it down the right edge shortside on the last and looked to have lost it but the ref has found a Parramatta hand in there somewhere!

Six again for the Dogs.

They finally crack the Eels in the second half off the back of that call as their lock barges over down our right edge, through the attempted tackle of Raeli (if I'm not mistaken)

The conversion is unsuccessful (a right royal shank too)

Terrible kick off. Not sure what happened there but it went 12m and broke to the sideline where it was easily taken.

The Dogs come undone on the last and put in a poor kick. Big result for the Eels as Makelim cleans the pill up. Metres are touch to buy but Raeli gets us up near the 40m line before Matterson rifles a clinical kick down field. He finds the grass between winger and fullback and the ball is marked 25m out from the Canterbury goal line.

The pressure is too much for the Dogs as they lose the ball early in the count!

Great run from Aloiai takes Parra to the goal line but an error in the play the ball on the next tackle gifts possession to the Dogs.

Under 2min on the clock now.

Canterbury flirt with the right sideline but manage to stay in field. They end up breaking our left edge open but Li holds off on the support runner and pulls him down 20m into Parra's half.

They then run the ball on the last, they have an overlap down our right but Lavaka shoots in the knowledge that support is coming. Folau, Makelim and another come together to kill the ball.

Pritchard and Lavaka take two dummy half runs before Matterson fires the ball to Lussick who hoofs it out over the deal ball line!

Very excited as you would imagine. One handling error asides, it was a pretty good debut from Jack Morris. Like Alex Twal he has a fair bit of size about him despite barely turning 18.

I'll get a summary up once I get home.

Twal actually looks a bit small to me. If course, this is compared to his monstrous 19 year old team mates.

Twal stands pretty even next to Matterson and has a thicker build. Not a monster just yet but he is sizable.

Also, Dylan Izzard seemed to be alright after the game. He didn't have any noticeable strapping or a sling.
