He is contracted until the end of 2015 (NYC eligibility) unless we have extended him on the sly.

If he plays well this season, which I'm sure he will, we should sign him on for another 3 years. This kid is something special and is constantly impressing. I think he's at the perfect weight for him to play his natural game (105kg) that way he keeps his speed but is able to over-power his opposition.

One thing that impresses me that you don't get from juniors highlights clips is his defence.

Yeah, fast brutal one-on-one stuff. The kind of defence that forces errors.

Tanginoa, Pauli, Masinamua and Pritchard were all extended past their NYC eligibility while still 18, so if Moeroa and his manager are happy with that I'm sure we'll do the same with him.

But if they're risk-takers and confident he will succeed, they might want to test him on the open market in 2015. Then we'd probably have to pony up the big bucks to keep him, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Hopefully his management team take the bird in the hand.

i think we need to turn our club around and start looking like a successful club purely so we have a reason for someone like him to stay .... no one wants to be at a pisshole club where you will be just some exceptionally talented battering ram getting belted non-stop cos oppositions don't fear anyone else in the team

i think the kearney and co attitude of decimating a club to then build it up kinda overlooked how hard it is to rebuild when you are a laughing stock

They didn't decimate the club. That happened naturally due to no strategic vision over an extended period of years. You're aware of how many coaches we've had since 2006?

. There are a couple of talented players in this squad as you all probably already know but I would keep my eye on Roe, Izzard, Pua, Kafusi and Hafoka. These players my brother has played with or against on a weekly basis and are a joy to watch for any Rugby League purists

Izzard is a player to watch that we poached from the Panthers. Awesome kicking game and very smart. He will struggle at first I imagine but will step up to the level over time.

It is a big step up to NYC from the games in that footage. Still there was some promising signs there.

The players he's playing against are the best of the best, especially when he's playing Union. A testament to Moeroa's ability is that he was selected to play league Australian schoolboys this year despite focusing more attention on Union. He's definitely one to keep an eye on.

He was named in our NYC squad earlier this year but couldn't play due to school/union commitments, if he was able to play he would have featured in our starting 13 every week

Sorry to ruin your story, dude; but, Tepai was not named in the Oz schoolboys rugby league side (surprisingly). The only player named in both the union and league squads was Joey Lussick. Lussick selected the league team and drop out of the union squad.

Tepai also played in 4 or 5 NYC games last year before his GPS union commitments took over.

I agree, he is one to keep an eye on.

I'm thinking of the NSW team then where he, ZDC, and Fuimaono were picked then? Pretty sure Lussick chose to play Union especially considering that's what his high school (Newington) would have wanted him to do.

To be correct neither made both Oz league and union.

Tepai as mentioned made Oz schools union and NSW 18s although withdrew from NSW 18s due to school union commitments.

Lussick made Oz schools league and Oz A union, which is a seconds team to give tour teams extra games. Lussick withdrew from Oz A union due to clash with Oz league.

Also 15's too isn't it? Look out for the 5/8 in our U/15 development squad, I've heard some good things about him. Joseph Taaga is his name I believe. Used to be a winger/centre.

Wish I could get out there, I would love to see the make up of the 2014 SG Ball squad.

I believe tyral Fuimano and Bevan French are playing and there could be some fringe 20s players on show too... The 18s start at 6pm

From what I understand there are 2 x 16s games and we're playing a whole of underage players against 1 of the best sides in the comp.
