Pauli Pauli earns a penalty in the following set to give Parra some great momentum and field position.

He takes the first carry after that too, getting some good involvment going.

Moeroa then takes a charge on the right, good run but he is well marked.

There looks to be the makings of something on over on the left-edge a play or two later but Auckafolau spills the pass from Davis.

Roosters scrum 10m out from their line.

Rain is lightening up now as the sun peaks out.

Davis saves a 40/20 attempt with a nice bat back but slides out of the contest for the rolling ball by doing so.

Goodall gets back first and dives on it but with the wet grass he is driven in goals from 3-4m out and the Roosters come away with a drop out.

A Loose arm from Muna collars a Rooster just a bit too high and the referee blows a penalty in front of the posts.

The Roosters opt to take the tap and catch is massively short down our right once more. A bit of deja vu there though as they butcher another overlap. Lavaka did well to jam in on the #11 and help force and error but that as a squandered chance by the Roosters.

Moeroa rolls his sleeves up and comes infield to take a great charge which earns a penalty. The kick for touch is a shocker but eventually gets there after confounding the Rooster's winger with a fiendish bounce.

Parra earn back to back penalties after that look to attack the right.

Lussick is the link man again as he Newbigging with a short ball and the hulking forward does most of the rest as he draws in multiple defenders before getting away an offload to a lurking Folau who puts Davis over (I think).

Davis makes it 0 from 3.

Roosters lead Parra 16-12.

Sounds like we are being well pressured by the Chooks' defence.

Their defence has been alright but a lot of it has to do with the weather which was awful for the majority of the first half.

It looks to have cleared up for the moment.

Pauli has looked very dangerous whenever we have gone to the left while Moeroa is getting through a fair bit of work throughout the middle and on the right.

Matterson has been the pick of the playmakers with two quality grubbers that have netted two tries for Fabian Goodall.

Newbigging also made a key contribution on the stroke of half time with a good run and outstanding offload to help narrow the margin to just four points.

Lavaka coughs up possession as he looked to run the ball out with perhaps a tad too much vigour and the Roosters go back on the attack.

They immediately sweep it out to the right where they have a two-on-one against Goodall but Auckafolau and Davis and racing across in cover and manage to raise the touchy's flag at the last moment.
