I don't think he is too popular over on their sub-forum but he is a Newcastle fan by the looks of it.

If we jag a win against the Rooters, then I will get excited.

Early days yet but interestingly we lead the NRL in line breaks, second in tries scored and first in penalties conceded. Our discipline is what could cost us games in the long run but we have just played Manly as well who are the 'cleanest' team in the NRL. Those 10 or 11 penalties make a big difference.

As long as they continue to improve I will be happy.

For the first I time in a long, long time, we have the ability to turn a line break into points more often than not, with Hayne, Radradra, Tonga, Hopoate, Sandow and Sio all able to back up a break.

It's exciting.

nothing made my blood boil worse in the last two years than seeing someone make a break then look around and see the rest of the team 30 metres behind them because nobody bothered to back up the ball carrier

It was so irritating!

It's also why I defend Joseph Paulo so much - if his mates would back him when he runs, as they have done the last few weeks, he will help set up breaks.

But my biggest pleasure is watching Radradra - the moment he makes a break, you just KNOW he will score or help someone else score. He's a genuine x-factor (for lack of a better term).

More to the point, with the new players plus the existing players all fit (except Loko) we actually have a great ability to generate line breaks in the first place.

Yep - we've got ball players capable of creating line breaks from 1 - 7 plus a few in the pack (excluding sio) and a few in the pack; plus we have plenty of players in the forwards and backs capable of breaking the line without assistance. We do have some finishers too which all combines for a much greater degree of potency in attack.

And of course that helps your defence because you are actually making the opposition work when you have the ball so they don't have as much to throw at you when they do.
