Eels in 7th at the end of Rnd 5

Based on todays results and the remaining games of this round, I don't see how we can fall below 7th at the end of round 5.

We haven't been in the 8 at the end of 5 rounds since 2007.

Nice feeling with over 20% of games played.

Interesting. Though we're already 7th. Tigers automatically overtake us if they win (unless they thrash Manly to the point we can over-take Manly) so that can put us down to 8th. But the only way we can finish any lower than that is if Storm beat Gold Coast by exactly 1 point.

My only concern is whether we will win 3 in a row? I feel like there is a 5% chance we don't win that 3rd.

I actually believed the NRL.COM ladder that shows us in 5th at the moment and didnt take into account that they order it based on games played first - DOH!!

Yep, 3 wins out of 5 - or even 3 out of 6 if we lose next week - is a great result.

If we can keep that ratio up through the season we'll sit around 8th place, massive improvement on the Kearney/Stuart years.

I think we can finish as low as 9th after the end of the round, but as high as 7th.

Chairman Sharp reckons if we win 3 from the first 6 we are set up for a top 6 finish.
He reckons we have 5 on the trot potentially further in the draw so 3 from 6 is a good start.

No doubt he is thinking Warriors, Panthers Broncos.

So 8 from 11. I don't know how many of the other 13 we would need to make top 6 but another 4 or 5 from the 13 should see us in the 8 for sure.
