He's a much better defender than Gower and has a lot more experience, especially in big matches.

Mannah's work rate definitely seemed to decline this year.

Don't get sucked in... Poopy is only pumping up Prior because it appears the club are interested in signing him. If the club denied it this time next week and said they were instead trying to convince Jason King to come out of retirement for a season Poopy would find a bunch of reasons why that would be an awesome idea... And then tell us that Prior is a bum and smart business to avoid him...

Every player has pros and cons. Prior would improve our top 17. The downside is that he's on the decline.

Prior would be a terrible signing we wont sign him and only an idiot would think entertain the thought..

Roosters also won a comp with a declining and aging Luke O’Donnell in their side. They signed him as they just wanted that extra bit of experience in their side.....

Prior offers something Mannah / Gower doesn’t.....premiership winning experience (and above 50% win average).

Obviously he is getting on and is on the decline but still goes ok and a lot comes down to price.

So 3 year deal for Prior???

It would bring his price down for multiple years and imagine how much experience he will have by 2022??? It will be very exciting!!

Media says he might come for a longer term contract. One year yeah great but any more is a risk.
Funny now that The Bern is going we are discussing long term contracts for oldies.
Media reports were that Mennings and Taka were both hopeful of sorting out their futures "with Brad"?
Do we still have a recruitment and retention committee?
Taka 2 years. Na 1 will do.
Mennings 2 years. Na 1 will do.
Prior 3 years. Na 1 will do.

What’s the problem with 2 year deals for Taka / Jennings? Players like the Morris twins / Gavin Cooper (who are similar) are a few years old and still playing.

BA has shown he is happy for both to be stopped to nsw cup , so I doubt their offers are stupid amounts.

Jennings is still very good defensively and Taka gives us cover for several spots

I doubt prior is being offered a 3 year contract, if so yes that is stupid!!

Also another thing with prior, we are losing a lot of experience with Gower, Moeroa, Manu and Mannah leaving. So the club could see him as a cheapie option to replace some of that experience.

LOD offered mongrel, skill and hard running. He also hit like a truck and inspired his team.

Matt Prior offers plod.

Settle down Gaz, you'll give yourself a hemorrhage. It's paper talk. Recent history suggests that the club will get this one right. We aren't desperate any more. If we didn't get bent over by our very own captain who we love, why would we for Matt effen Prior.
