Dominating the Holden Cup at 17 years of age was a pretty good sign. And then playing well in reserve grade at 18 was the icing on the cake. I expected he would eventually become a first grader but was surprised when we were trying to move on one of our established halves to make room for him over the off season. I assumed he'd spend another year in NSW Cup and come into the team in 2020 to replace whichever one of Moses and Norman we didn't retain. It happened a year early and he's shown his class.
Rissoling Norman has been one of the most forward thinking moves our club has made in a long time. And that’s despite him making his Origin debut this year too.

Did you watch last nights game? Seriously?

Not a lot to his game, really?

Did you see his defence last night, Manly moved a prop to the edge to target him. He made 24 tackles (3rd most)

Did you see his running game? 120 plus metres!!That included 4 TB (Sivo had 5)

Did you see his perfect kick for Sivo’s first try?

Did you see him make the right call, draw a player (rather then run) and pass for Sivo’s 3rd try?

Defence is solid.

His run metres is a stupid stat. A half is always going to have alot of run metres if they choose to run rather than past. Every run he had in the game was ineffective or the better option was to commit the defence and then pass.

Don't get me wrong, he had some nice touches, but I could show you examples of Luke Kelly, Daniel Mortimer and Ryley Jacks doing exactly the same as what you've identified above, doesn't make him a long term superstar.

But as I said, he is 18 and has gone better than I thought he would and I expect significant improvement in every facet of his game with more experience.

If making over 10 m’s a run and only Sivo was making more, is an ineffective running game, I think we were watching different games........

Oh yeah much rather have Luke Kelly, Ben Kusto or Tulsen Tollett than Dylan Brown...
Deadset we are all watching different games

We are watching different games. You watch through blue and gold glasses. I watch the top sides and see what they do significantly better than what we do and see areas we need to improve.

He's a half back. Not a forward or outside back. He's job is not to run 10 metres and get tackled easily on every run. That's the entire point of what I'm trying to say. He runs too much... I would imagine if every half in the NRL ran as much as he does they would make as many metres. It's a bullshit useless stat for a half if all they're going to do is waste a play.

You're someone who is always going to look at a stat and turn it into a positive argument, because you think that Parra players are all great. But if they we're all so great because of individual stats, then why aren't we sitting were Melbourne are on the ladder?

It's the deficiancies in what players don't do that is the reason why were not higher up the ladder, not the everyday day decent numbers on a stats sheet. Until we rectify the deficiancies that don't appear on the NRL stats sheet then Drown and the rest of the squad won't be replacing Melbourne at the top of the ladder anytime soon.

Having said all that, I have little concern on Drowns potential and his future. But the jury is still out on whether he can achieve what his potential has shown.

The teams ahead of us on the ladder have better stats than we do. It's like you think stats aren't worth anything. They reflect what happens on the field. The Storm and Raiders both have a half making 100+ metres per game. Moses makes as many metres as Keary, and Brown's up there with Cody Walker. It's good to have halves who are a threat to run because it creates space for their supports. If Brown didn't run so much Jennings wouldn't have had space to get outside Suli and set up Sivo's final try on Friday. The constant, repetitive short ball to Lane is also a deliberate ploy. Again, it forces the two defender (the centre) to stay honest, rather than getting up quickly on Gutherson out the back.

Just on doing things professionally. This is not intended to be critical.
Im also aware Parra did defeat Manly last Friday.
Did anybody notice the on field warm ups of both Manly and Parra last Friday night?
Manly separated into groups running through organised routines. Looked very good.
Eels were like Browns Cows. Rolling around on the ground, some participating some not. Ball boys kicking and passing to players. Kidwell wandering oround continually tucking his shirt in.
I know its mattered little in the end but gee Manly looked impressive.

What bar in the club mate?
The only place where we could find a seat. The bistro. Dead set it was painful. Anyone who ordered a bottle of anything, coke, sprite, wine etc, she had to pour it into a glass wait for the fizz to settle, pour some more etc, etc. Meanwhile the line got longer and longer. Same line for nibbles and drinks. Not my first bad experience on game day either.

What sort of f**king response is that. Well it's obvious who gazzamatta will be voting for
A genuine response mate. Ive been to every vote bar one and have voted for the reforms every time and if I get there on Tuesday ill be doing the same.
Honestly Chiefy, how do you rate the club?
If it wasnt for Bankwest Stadium you wouldnt get me near the place. Thankfully I'm a Perpetual Member so I never have to decide should I renew or not.

I'd be surprised if most of Drown's runs were intentional. It appears he's chosen the option late as it seems the most natural for him when he is put under pressure. Essentially he's played it safe. Which is fine for an 18 year old for mine. As i said originally, he's gone better than I expected.

The top two teams Im sure have a shit load of stats better than we do, including not being one of the teams who has the slowest play the ball speed and not allowing their opponents to play it faster than them.

Attention to detail on getting some key stats right might help our cause better. We show a complete lack of attention to detail on most key fundamentals that have provided teams any kind of success for at least the last decade.

But that is all a topic for another day and nothing really to do with Drowns. He should continue to improve and hopefully have plenty of upside in the future.

Anyway, I think I've said enough on Drown. I'll leave the semantics for the rest of you to carry on with.

Surelypeople know this vote isn't about the leagues club's furnishings and more about not letting Spaggs, Fizty and their factions anywhere near the football club, or at least making it extremely difficult.

We let them or their honchos anywhere near the board, and the club will leak like a sieve once again and destroy itself from within.

What else do you expect a halfback to do when put under pressure other than run? Anything else is a big chance of a turnover.

Bev scored 3 tries yesterday.

Very happy for him..lightning quick. Interestingly playing on the wing..
Will be a massive fan favourite with his speed and elusiveness..wish him well and hopefully comes back to the NRL...for whatever reason we didn't see or get the best of him at parra. In saying that he scored some scintillating tries for us
