If moses is picked i dont think they would back him up 2 days later - with the seemingly ongoing calf twinges

I know that it is always a little exaggerated but still relative to all players. That NRL Rich list have our players on plenty of money. We have 9 players on the NRL Rich 100 equal with Souths. Dragons have the most with 10. It's actually a good spread as opposed to other teams, especially when you see that players like Zelezniak on $750K, Moylan, Dugan and Fifita on $850K. Even that thief, Napa is on $650K.

I can't see Cartwright staying. The way we're playing him he isn't worth any more than we are paying him this year, and he's worth a lot more money for someone else.

We need to find a role for him. He should've been on the field a lot earlier against the Panthers. If we're not going to play him unless we have to, then put some one on the bench that will cover other positions.

BA uses the 17th man as an emergency if we get a head bin or injury. So him getting 10mins at the end is not unlike what BA has done for a lot of this year.

Is he going to push anyone out of the 17 ? Not Lane IMO based on his great games he has in put in bank in 2021.

Carty is only useful when we have an injury to Matto or Papa.

One thing is for sure. We won’t be making any big money signings unless we offload some players surplus to our needs. I saw on the list that Gagai is on $750k. I can’t see him taking unders being a current SOO player. Unless of course he wants a longer deal on less money. He turns 31 next year.

I read a week or so back that whilst we made early enquiries we didn’t show any real interest (likely based on his expected wages).

I think our biggest priority between now and Nov is locking Reed & Gutho down long term given they can negotiate from Nov 1. Gutho whilst not a superstar is the type of player that would make any team better, and he’ll have plenty of interest. Reed is young, he is rep quality, and in the top 5 hookers in the comp - he’ll have offers all over the place, including from any possible new Brisbane team who’ll pitch him returning home.

hopefully any new brissy team might go after the block of cheese .... he thinks he is a dummy half - has shown interest in going to Qld (gold coast) - and would get paid well ...... so hopefully that might help them stay away from Rheed ..... but totally agree - we need to show him the money

realistically we don't have cash to spend if we want to maintain our current top players .... Gutho will need a little upgrade, moses already got a little upgrade, reed will get a decent upgrade, papa needs a decent upgrade

In our favour Fergo's money is decent .... Nrown probably ended up with a little downgrade .... unsure how much the ruff are still chipping in for RCG and Waqa?

It's interesting that the Broncos are apparently no longer interested in Hodgson, they might be ready to make a big play for Mahoney for 2023... Latest reports seem to indicate the NRL aren't locked in for expansion to 17 teams for 2023 yet, might be a year or 2 later...

Do you rate Cartwright more than Lane ? He's more than done the job for us this year and he can play both edge and middle.
