That’s what you get when you front load your effort areas and chase the collision!!!!

4 players in the VB hard working index, it’s very exciting!!!

I see a lot of criticism here about chasing the collision, why is that a bad thing? You do realise that the Rooster and Storm have been doing that for a long time and how many premierships have they won in the last decade?

The Sharks started slowly building towards it too when Flanagan took over and let me know what that led to?

Seems like a reason to put shit on BA just because it is easy to bring up every time the team loses.......

What a weird thing to be obsessed about in a contact sport........

Obsessed??? It’s a f**king joke. Nothing wrong with us chasing the collision at all.

The problem is there is no plan B, the Storm and Roosters have a Plan B,C and even D. If we don’t chase to collision or are off our game just a little bit for whatever reason we normally get pumped. And our attack is still bog average at best.

The Storm and Roosters have more attacking options because they have more attacking players. Options cost money and we're still a bit behind those clubs in the 'level playing field' stakes.

Yeah because we have no attacking players at all, I suppose block plays are all they are capable of. We are so lucky have a team stacked full of VB hard workers otherwise we could be in trouble.

It’s taken 6/7 years since the rebuild through junior ranks began to have players ready to take the next step. Roosters paid up for talent big time beneath NRL level, Storm did well to raid Qld and NZ. Penrith started theirs before us, and used their leagues club affiliations in the bush to tap up and comers.Understand we as a club have undertaken some big changes in junior recruitment and development staff in the last year or so, expect ongoing improvements from our own younger players.

There is a decent base in the club now, as before the strike and speed to make a difference is the issue. Field position and scoring is OK, ability to make long distance breaks seems the Achilles heel.

Well we actually do have a couple of options. We have Paulo, Nrown and Mahoney ball-playing in the middle, we have the Gutherson-Sivo left side shift, and we have Moses' attacking kicks for Matterson (right) and Blake (left). And that's how we've scored so many tries this year.

But we obviously don't have the recruitment/retention power of the Roosters and Storm, which is why we have fewer genuine stars. Maybe we can develop them, Panthers-style, but Parramatta in 2021 is quite different from Parramatta in the 90s. In fact Penrith in 2021 is demographically more like Parra in the 90s.

Foxtel Media And Ampol Partnership To Deliver Three Documentaries

by Joshua Hodson

Foxtel Media has announced a new partnership with Ampol to create three mini sports documentaries for Fox Sports’ Digital Hub and social media platforms.

The three documentaries will look into three of Australia’s sporting personalities, including Parramatta Eels legend, Nathan Hindmarsh, AFLW premiership-winning coach, Bec Goddard, and Super Netball athlete, Jemma Mi Mi.

Included in the broadcast partnership is integrated segments, billboards, TVCs, and live game visual branding.
The series will be hosted by Fox Sports presenters, Mark Howard, and Hannah Hollis, who for the series, will visit the hometown of each personality and will travel to significant locations to discuss key moments, places and people from each personality’s history.

Foxtel Media sport sales and partnerships director, Martin Medcraf, said: “Foxtel Media is thrilled to be working with a classic Australian brand that Foxtel audiences immediately recognise and admire.”

“Our partnership with Ampol is the best way to showcase the great reach and quality that Foxtel Media can deliver.
“This is a true cross-platform partnership delivering broadcast sponsorship and integration, that is supported by incredible content.

“This content further leverages our iconic Fox Sports talent with a well-executed digital and social amplification strategy,” Medcraf said.

Ampol chief brand officer, Jenny O’Regan, said Ampol will amplify the documentaries on their own platforms as well as Fox Sports’.

“Ampol is a proud supporter of all Australian journeys, in particular of those who are participating in Australian elite and grassroot sports as they play an important role in our culture,” O’Regan said.

“We are immensely proud of this partnership with Foxtel Media and we look forward to taking Foxtel viewers on an iconic Australian sports journey, showcasing great talent and great towns across Australia,” she said.

One thing is for sure. We won’t be making any big money signings unless we offload some players surplus to our needs. I saw on the list that Gagai is on $750k. I can’t see him taking unders being a current SOO player. Unless of course he wants a longer deal on less money. He turns 31 next year.

The only reason Gagai is still an Origin player this season after his last two games is because QLD are so crap. There is no way he would have held on to his position if they had someone else to slot in. This is the worst QLD SOO team that they have ever had. The only reason they won it last year is because it was at the end of the season and we didn't prepare as well as we should have because of it and we had so many out.

This year with a proper preparation and full compliment of players, the QLDers have been shown up for what they are. Absolute bog average. They are way worse then what we were when they had their record breaking winning streak. At least back then we had great players all over the park, but for our halves where they blitzed us. They have maybe 4 or 5 genuine contenders that could maybe force their way into out squad at best.

Lane is a very lazy and overrated merkin there’s a reason why he’s had short stints at clubs.

I don't think he is overrated. We all know what he can do. He is hardly being touted as a SOO or Australian player. He is considered to be a very good and handy NRL player, which is what he is. His lapses are the reason he isn't a rep player and why we could bring him to the club when we did and why he can't demand highend $$$.

Can he be used better? I think he can be, but then again I don't think we are using many of our players to the best of their abilities. Jeez I hope we change our assistant coaches in the off season.

We’ve swept out the bogans and become more ‘cosmopolitan’ but it means we don’t have the same junior base. Unless we want to start developing craft beer drinker mincers.
