It’s not wasted just yet.

I’ve always thought our squad isn’t quite at the level of the best teams, but then when we’ve had those discussions in the past you invariably bring that back to BA as well.
I still think we are pissing in the wind, the squad might not be good enough but one thing i'm certain of is the coaching staff certainly aren't. I've more than enough to suggest Bea isn't capable of turning this team to a real premiership contender. And that means more than firing up for a few of the top teams and in finals when you have nothing to loooooose.

Bea has shown he can get us to a certain level but thats it, the team hasn't evolved whatsoever and still playing the same rubbish style of footy. The idiots running the club don't really care as long as the team is competitive and the football club is making money. Near enough is good enough for them and the majority of the fanbase.
If we win it will be exciting for a few hours and then life will move on.

However, if we keep losing for another 10 years then this forum will continue to provide ample excitement and hilarity.

I can’t even begin to imagine what @hineyrulz in 2032 is like if we are still premiership-less, particularly if BA is the still the coach and JA is the captain!

Who was the last coach to win a GF with a squad that wasn’t amongst the best in the comp?

One thing we can all rely on is the hilarity of this forum, i'll be somehow even more bald and Pou will be still making excuses telling us the coach still needs some more time. Stability got damn it!!!!!

Shane Flanagan??? Green with the Cowboys??? Even Cleary, i'd say the Storm still had the best squad and a full strength Roosters or Souths probably at least were there equal. All those squads are now weaker and ours is at least the equal of last year but we still look like we are making up the numbers.

Just lulling everyone into a false sense of security before we pull out some secret moves.

He’s more chance of going under 50% than getting to 55%. His teams aren’t consistent enough, tough enough or smart enough. But being ok is good enough for Parra enough I suppose.
He's been well over 55% since 2018. If it continues he'll exceed 55% for his career. Do you think it won't continue?

Yes.

Maguire hasn't got pull power. The best coaches do.
Why would the best coaches go to Wests? Do you really think that's the sort of challenge they relish? Or are they more likely to see if they can win three in a row at a club like Melbourne or Easts?

Isn't the Bush coach like less than 20% at the important time of the season? Has the bushie ever beaten any team above him on the ladder in a finals game? Aren't the only teams the bushie has ever beaten the Broncos and newy who were both mediocre at the time?
I think pou pou and his supporters better think twice before thinking ba will ever have a chance of coaching a successful team. He has done nothing but pull the wool over everyone's eyes
What do you think is Bellamy's finals record against teams above him on the ladder?

The point is that even Michael Maguire can win premierships at clubs like that so they can afford to sack whomever they want. Is Maguire a better coach than Bennett because he won a premiership at Souths? Premierships are a useless metric, just like finals wins, because there's a lot of luck involved.
What metric do you use to judge someone’s coaching ability?

I didn't say they would mate. Good attempt at deflection though, but no cigar.

Madge is a one trick pony and the real stars of the 2014 premiership winning team were Rusty's star power recruitment influence and the managing team he put in place. Madge being a disciplinarian had quality players that got super fit and played that power game with class and speed in the backline to finish it off. Once the won it though his one dimensional angry fitness regime coaching style became annoying and to taxing for the established stars and he was punted once they stopped responding to his methods.

I don't think any coach will make us any better than we are now. TPAs or career/investment opportunities are the only thing that will improve our on field competitiveness. But if we stay as strong as we are now we will eventually win a premiership. The problem is we've never been able to consistently open premiership windows without a decade of shit in between. I'm keen to see how quickly we get back after this one closes, and I don't expect Arthur's to be retained for the rebuild. But I also don't think we'll be any better or worse off if he does stick around. Maguire or Cleary, even Griffin will do as good a job. They're all capable of winning a premiership.
