At least Mahoney is young and a better chance of recovering and getting back to his best. We won't ever see Hodgson anywhere near his best.
True - which has been reflected in his supposed contract value of around 400k.

Well good for him that judging by their performance last week, he's joining a team that don't like tackling!!Some people seem to forget Mahony has shoulder issues, 2 ops already.
Could have something to do with the fact that we didn't want to get into a bidding war
Horrid. Looks like a rag someone at Taubmans used to clean up different coloured spilled paint off the floor....
Well said Pou.If we lose Dylan Brown it likely means he was offered overs by a lesser club or for reasons that are beyond the clubs control. We should applaud the club for not over spending just to weaken other positions.
Well what's he worth if he played 20 games? How much less if he played 15? When dealing with business risk you need to judge probabilities and apply them to dollar values. How much would Hodgson be worth if he only played ten games? Do you not think the club and player addressed these questions during negotiations? As I understand it, his salary cap value for match payments isn't based on games played in that playing year, it's based on the previous year. In this case he could play 20 games in 2023 and the cap hit would only be based on his 2022 total appearances. That's if there is a match payments component. The fact is we don't know the details, but the club and player would both be aware of the risks. They will have worked together to cover their arses. I know this because of how the club refuses to buckle to player demands, which I know because of how hostile the media gets during our negotiations.I don't know if anyone even expects him to play 15 games.
I was gonna say, looks like someone spilt their taubmans on itHorrid. Looks like a rag someone at Taubmans used to clean up different coloured spilled paint off the floor....
We can always sign a 35 yr old 5/8th if he goes.If we lose Dylan Brown it likely means he was offered overs by a lesser club or for reasons that are beyond the clubs control. We should applaud the club for not over spending just to weaken other positions.
Matt Moylan fits the bill. He'll be 33 and completely busted. We can always sign a 35 yr old 5/8th if he goes.
But he’ll be experienced, and cheap. Think of how much cap space we’ll have!!Matt Moylan fits the bill. He'll be 33 and completely busted.
You’d be fine with that wouldn’t you? Given how rubbish Drown is?Matt Moylan fits the bill. He'll be 33 and completely busted.
As long as his body holds up he’ll be OK. He won’t be as quick as Reed but he’s very smart and skilful. At his best he was elite, possibly as good as Cameron Smith (but playing in a worse team). I don't think anyone expects him to be that good when he gets here.
Huh? Drown is playing well this year. You should try watching some games. You’d be fine with that wouldn’t you? Given how rubbish Drown is?
Pretty certain he was your whipping boy last year but.Huh? Drown is playing well this year. You should try watching some games.
So based off his 2021 form I’d be happy for a busted up old 5/8 to take his place in 2024? Strange comment.Pretty certain he was your whipping boy last year but.
Unfocused? Are you joking. The guy won us many games with his D. Defence is attitude. Ffs Poo.I don't think it's a good sign that he was an unfocused deadshit with the player option up his sleeve but now that he's off contract in November he's had the biggest preseason ever. Hopefully just lack of maturity but it could also be a character flaw.
