No one is talking of a tricky or sneaky tactic. I am referring to proper thousands of hours of training structures and tactical plays. Not out of the box tricky sh*t mate. But whatever. We are an average bunch of merkin players that have very little intellect or ability by your reckoning so no amount of training will ever fix that right?

Or is it the hours of training that has been put in them to get them to the standard that makes them the best players mate?

Example Papenhuyzen and Hughes two spine players that nearly didn't make it even with their natural talents. One was even offered to other clubs, but then they put their heads down and worked harder in a system that gives you all the knowledge and training in the world if you can handle it and guess what? Once they learnt all the subtleties and nuances that their positions demand they became consistent...

And they are still learning by no account are they the final product yet, but the are almost there.

Most of our players have improved as well. It’s not just something that the Storm does. But they also have the best recruitment in QLD and probably NZ as well. This was happening before Bellamy. Smith/Slater/Cronk were already at the club when Bellamy arrived and he’s been quoted as saying the club already knew they’d play Origin. It’s not coaching mate, it’s playing talent. Put anyone in a better team and he will go better.

Anyone know if Ennis and McGregor went to Darwin?

Ennis wouldnt be here with the club (he may be with Fox) as he is only a consultant who comes in to specifically work with the spine (he's not an assistant coach).

McGregor's role is as an advisor to BA around ideas and tactics, etc. so I don't think he will be there either.

I will put the question to someone i know later and let you know mate.

Well i saw him with Dean widders down in one of the corporate areas at the tigers match an hour or so before the game chatting to a few people.

He must not have gone to the coaches box then i haven't watched a full match replay of that game on Fox to know though.

Yep. Like Mitch landing a one pointer. You're up to it mate. Good news to hear hes still around. Maybe you could ask why he got punted from the coaches box. Then maybe Gutho is correct and Mary just popped out for a P.

That is the key. You can actually see when we are under the pump (especially the Tigers game) Gutho was not composed. You will notice that he overplays his hand and gets emotional. Which is why having Paulo as a co-captain is a great decision.

So paying overs for Gutho for 4 more years wasn’t the greatest decision by the club then???
