Eels in the media

Ginnane said on Triple M on Saturday that Eels players are on a media ban this week.

I’m a fan, firstly keep them focused on going to NQ and getting the job done but also it’s a big FU to the media after the timing of the nepotism report.
Agree, everyone lapped it up. To his credit, Joey Johns called out the BS during the call on Friday night.

Yeah i heard that.

Its interesting some of our best performances this year have come after copping bakes in the media or being under the pump.

^^^ James Graham and Gordon Tallis reckons that the Eels squad should remain unchanged because the forwards all play long minutes. Having a options on the bench works for them so keep doing it.

Hooper hinted that two players Brown and Carty have their noses out of joint by not being selected and that's where the disgruntled players rumours started. If Brown is ratting and whinging to Journos then he can f**k off. If it's his manager, then Brown needs to tell him to pull his head in.

James Hooper talks about the "pressure on the club from the media" like he was an innocent bystander. Moron.

Gordon Tallis brings him back to earth a few times. It a shame that he didn't point the actual finger at Hooper however.

I said it last week listening to Dobbo makes my ears burn he is a big know it all that knows nothing.

I’m glad Hadley and Hooper had a crack at us during the week and we’ve followed it up with a media ban.

There is nothing better than a siege mentality heading into games like these. Us vs The World. So often, it works a treat.

Article says Hadley is off air this week on supposed holidays.

Must be crying that parramatta won on friday so he couldnt unleash this week on the club.

I think we are all a bit stumped by the Nrown ommission right?

I would fully expect Nrown to be a bit upset he is being overlooked .... i mean you want your players to want to play right? ... and i wouldnt be surprised if he says is is unhappy about not being picked if someone asks him directly about it

I noticed Brad Arthur talking to Nathan Brown and Bryce in the dressing sheds after the game on Friday.
I think Nathan is in the picture for this week.

Not really, he was going poor at the start of the season got injured and hasn't really done enough in Cup to warrant a call up.

Nathan Brown has worked his arse off for the fans & jersey in the past 6 years and put his body on the line for this club.

I think he deserves to be there instead of Makatoa especially if we make the GF considering Maka only plays less then 20 mins with minimal impact anyway.

There is no omission, cause he was selected on Tuesday. He is however behind Makatoa as the emergency middle in the Parra Ball 17.

Compare that to Tim Mannah. Now he was omitted. In his last year for the eels, he didn't see NRL at all in the backhalf of the season. Even the semi vs Storm, he didn't make the 21 selected on TLT.

Even in our/his last home game, Tim did not make the 21 on TLT and played in NSW Cup.

So has Nathan Hindmarsh and Tim Mannah but that doesn't mean they should be in the squad.

This is the Same Brown who was going to jump to Manly until they pulled their offer....

Training was interrupted because Mitch needed to go to his nan's funeral.

"But foxsports.com.au understands preparations for the club’s biggest game in 13 years were altered when Arthur allowed Moses to attend Barbara Elias’ funeral on Monday.

The Eels were set to train on Monday morning but Arthur shifted the session to the afternoon to accommodate his best player.

Barbara became “the most famous mother in State of Origin history” when she ran onto the field in the dying stages of the 1992 series opener.

She jumped the fence at the Sydney Football Stadium to wipe blood from the head of her man-of-the-match son Benny Elias."

🤣 👍 Can't say I remember that.
