Some arsehole spear fisherman took it out a few years ago if I remember correctly. It was in the papers I think. It used to come into Clovelly and we used to see it. No spearfisherman would ever spear it until this tosser decided to.

It’s a marine reserve. They are everywhere. I went snorkeling last summer in Gordons Bay off the carpark. Gropers are in about 4m so easy to access.

Gropers (the fish, not Drown) are super friendly and inquisitive . There are a couple around Fairy Bower at Manly that are happy for you to pat them. Any merkin that spears a groper (again, the fish) is a f**k head and a coward.

The one I was referring to was huge(probably over a metre long) and well loved, nicknamed Bluey and known to everyone in the area.

Frome Coogee to Bronte it is an aquatic reserve and illegal to kill gropers from what I understand since it is our official fish of NSW.

Seriously one of my favourite players ever and I would put him in Parra's all time greatest team ever in a heart beat. He was that good. Probably off the bench.
