SMH article about each club, Eels content below:

Eels

Training the house down: Bryce Cartwright/Joe Ofahengaue/Reagan Campbell-Gillard
″⁣I could give you five or six names, but those three come to mind straight away,” coach Brad Arthur said. “‘Reg’ [Campbell-Gillard] has had the pre-season of his life, ‘Joffa’ [Ofahengaue] looks great, while ‘Carty’ is fitter than ever. He’s also added plenty of muscle.”

Wouldn’t look out of place in an Origin jumper: J’maine Hopgood
“I know he’s been 18th man for Queensland. I know if he keeps working on his consistency of being an 80-minute player, he won’t be far off. We’ve got a few guys who should be in the mix again for NSW with Junior Paulo, Reg, ‘Gutho’ [Clint Gutherson] and Mitch [Moses].”

Needed to get out of his comfort zone: Kelma Tuilagi/Morgan Harper
“Both Kelma and Morgan have done a good job. It’s about getting them to fit in to the way we want to play, but the trials will quickly help them out.”

Pity Emu's name isn't among them...We really need him to fire and be consistently good for most of the season if we want our momentum and palooka dominance to work full on and for the full 80 minutes of each game this season. This yo yo-ing within games has to stop and it would also help our defense as well. Our power game needs more power players to work well and be sustained the WHOLE season. Otherwise we will see similar outcomes again this season.

Availability will help for sure, I am sure every team outside of the Dragons would be thinking the same.

It is a sore point on here but how many players does Arthur develop?

The only one still around from that gun NYC team a few years back is Brown, To be fair he is an elite half. Outside of him?

Most guys come across as pretty handy players already, To be top 4 Dunster/Russell need to take a leap forward.

Too many holes needing to be filled particularly in the backline but I just too many teams being better. There is about 10 teams that look good enough for the top 4 on paper.

Being under the radar might be a good thing for the squa

Spoken like a true blinkered Riff supporter that has the stuff that is as brown as your former old jersey squarely stuck in their eyes.

Now get back to you hillbilly poxy outpost wasteland of dump you call home and leave us good folks alone to do some real talk and analysis you peasant. You have no idea.

Yet... there is a thread.

Started by Parra fans questioning as to whether Arthur should be coach.

A thread that 5 years later is still getting debate

MON cops it for not signing players fast enough.
Sarantinos cops it for sending out emails.

BA cops it for just about every other f**king thing the club does.
How long do u want to keep Brad, considering he’s been here for 11 years with nothing to show for….simple question?

He deserves a life time contract... just to give him the time needed
Poor Bea is just getting his bearings, he’s barely got his feet under his desk. You can’t rush these things. Who knows by year 15 he might even have a clue how rotate a bench?? Year 20 he may just fix our edge defence. We could get the super cool moves by year 25? It’s very exciting!!

The bench is the main issue I see, You are underselling future immortal Morgan Harper to fix the edge defence

I have always said, I'm fine with him until a better option is available.
We don't want another situation like we had after sacking Brian Smith and replacing him with a lesser coach in Michael Hagan. People were so angry about how he was unable to win us a premiership in his tie at the Eels that they thought 'anyone would be better', which as we know is just untrue.

In saying that, however, I think he will need to prove himself during this coming season and have some positive results. If he has another lacklustre year such as we had in 2023 then I think it's time the club moved on and found someone else who will hopefully be better.
