The idiot has named the same top 8 as this year, except he has replaced Broncos with his mate Ricky's Raiders. Seriously!!!

Do you think we're any more chance of making the Top 8 next season than anyone who made the Top 8 this season?

Do you think that many teams who didn't make the Top 8 this year are more of a chance of making the Top 8 next season than the ones who did this season?

We are no chance - none. It will be another long year.

2020 could see us slip into the 8 maybe possibly. I'm excited.

Until the player market finalises then I think us, Raiders, Tigers, Knights and Cowboys are all as much of a chance to make the top 8 as Bronco's, Warriors and Dragons to be honest. I also think that if the Bunnies were to lose Sam Burgess for more than 5-6 games to injury, they will struggle and may fall out of the 8. They will be without Crichton and Sutton who along with Sam were mainstays in their pack for most of the year and I don't see who they have replaced them with that will have the same work rate.

EDIT: I will also reserve judgement until the draw is released. As we have seen, it can have a big bearing on how a team goes.

I didn't ask whether we were as much of a chance...I asked if we were more of a chance.

I think we're as much as a chance of probably 14 teams to make the Top 8 next season, but I would say we're only more of a chance of making it ahead of a couple of those.

As a result, I can see how someone could easily pick the same Top 8 next season as made it this year.

I thought Sutton was playing again?

Hadn't heard he had re-signed as yet.

And I don't see us as MORE of a chance than any other team to be honest, but I do think we have as much chance as a few. Draw, injuries and general luck play a part these days in deciding the final 8.

I don’t see why we would be no chance of making the Finals next season. It only takes a change in form for Moses or Norman and we are suddenly dangerous again. We have made some astute signings in areas we have needs (big prop, big winger, line breaking back rower), so there’s every possibility that we will be a better team.

Arthur was a good enough coach in 2016/2017. Why couldn’t he be good enough in 2019?

Until we get a quality 9 we will be shit.
Although he has only played 9 games we have one.

Even Cameron Smith had only played 9 games at one stage of his career. In fact Smith played 2 games at half early in 2002 and then made his hooking debut in Rnd 1 2003. Played some games off the bench that year as well.

Edit: Michael Ennis played in 20 games before being picked at hooker for the first time. Players don't always start as superstars in their long term position.

He may turn into a quality 9 in a year or two but he isn’t one yet.
I beg to disagree that he is a year or two away.

His work rate and defensive style are already quality. He can improve his passing from dummy half sure, but with an improved forward pack in 2019 that should naturally improve. And he has a running game that he will use more as he gains confidence.

I'm waiting until I see the full 30 man squad, return to stadium day and the draw before I can make a sound judgement on that. Right now, without all the pieces in place, I think it's going to be a struggle to get anywhere near the 8.
