I was there that night.
I remember thinking at the time, “Who cares. I wouldn’t want to come out and be praised for some individual accomplishment when my team just got thrashed.”

Thinking back on it now it was probably a bit childish, especially letting everyone wait for him out on the field without letting them know.

My father is a Queenslander so i copped it for 8 years straight during my teenage years from him and all his relatives up north. We never won a series when i was in High School between 2007-2012.

Last year was the first time i actually didn't care as i was pissed off with Fittler/Brandy and just NSW team in general that was picked.

It helped i was in my hotel room in Miami watching it at 7am with a hangover in the morning far far away from Australia not having to watch or listen the Queenslanders carry on like pork chops after the game with another series win.
