I don’t mind watching it but I really couldn’t give a shit who wins. Wearing an origin jersey is more bogan than wearing your club jersey. If you ever see me in either in public outside of a stadium you have permission to assault me.

That's a fairly geniused sentiment there mate. What about all the seppo sports jersey's we see worn by all stature and levels in society all over the world. Hardly a bogan move.

It just needs one Hollywood star to make it trendy and or fashionable and hey presto you too are wearing them to bed while masturbating on a football.

I don't think it's the act of wearing a jersey which is the problem. It's the fact that NRL jerseys are generally crap and not stylish.

Clubs like PSG worked with actual fashion designers to make their jerseys popular. The vintage jerseys are better in my opinion.

I actually think we have some great designed jersey's, especially the NSW, QLD and Australian ones. Most of the V club jersey's too. But what is poxy about them is the sponsor signage on them. For some it works well enough and sort of blends in enough to not totally f**k them up but for others like the Aussie or State jumpers, it is disgusting and I won't buy them because of it.

I currently own 3 Parra jerseys and I am not all that fussed with them. They are ok, but hardly stylish. To much sponsor and it bugs the crap out of me. They want me to wear and promote their logo, they need to pay me ffs!

I refuse to be a walking bill board for no compensation. Now if it was smaller and subtle, sure that would be fine, but a dirty big insignia right in the middle of the damn thing. Yuk especially if the colouring is all wrong and it just stands out like dogs balls.

Less is more.

I have said this before, if Parra were to ever bring out a V designed jersey I would then buy a jersey again, but until then, if it ever happens, I am never buying another jersey again.

Yea and I think NRL as a whole needs to work on it. Even AFL beats us.

It may be because I’m a supporter but ours is at least blended with the white NRL and sponsor logos. Same with Liverpool’s. The AFL logo and mismatched sponsor logo looks dumb.
The simple fact though is rugby league isn’t big enough to dictate to corporate sponsors. It’s getting closer but certainly can’t compare to the major sporting economies, especially when even they aren’t immune (the Standard Chartered logo is bigger than the LFC logo ffs and does anyone remember the Carlsberg FC jersey they had?). It all comes down to blending design which I think we and NRL in general actually do ok at

In bed it’s different. All bets are off.

I don't think anyone can bash around sponsors. PSG's Qatar Airways is way bigger than the PSG logo.

I haven't followed American sports for a long time but I thought uniform sponsors were banned.
Only NFL except apparel manufacturers. There are some controls over MLB and NBA but they do have them. They’re only small patches and given the insane amount of games those teams play they tend to come and go through the season. That also tends to mean cost/exposure isn’t worth it to sponsors plus the big corporates have more access to stadia sponsorships

Maria Kovacic was part of the Eels NRLW steering committee and is a lifelong eels tragic.

She was today parachuted into Jim Molan’s vacant federal senate seat.
