Yep, but we have to get to that point first.

As you've suggested, we'll have 28 days to 'show cause' first. Then we have to go through the NRL's appeals process (if available to us). At that point you'd consider your court options (if there are any)...which may involve trying to get an injunction (but that injunction would be very temporary unless we have a very compelling case).

Let's see what the breach notice alleges.
And to think we had Kent and co. screaming for the NRL to hurry up and punish us, preferably before we'd played another game. I suppose we'd have been better off if they'd actually done that.

Anyway, pleased to see the club show its will to fight, even though it may not be a good sign that they feel they'll have to.

So if we lose 12 points, and we fight in the courts but it isn't resolved until November, and we win. Then we start next season in Round 1 on 12 points. Right!!!!!??!!!

Why are people blaming the NRL for the Eels f**k up?

The whole thing is we don't know who to blame at present, our club just keeps saying they are fully corporating with the NRL, the media say we are guilty as hell and heads should roll and we should not be allowed to play the in the finals but not really 100% saying what we are guilty of and NRL have said nothing the whole time.
All we want is a fair investigation not one driven by media agenda. And if we are guilty we want those responsible at our club dealt with.

well said Sharpy

the NRL have proven they are a joke and we should take the f**kers to court and expose them for the amateurs they are

I've said all along if the want the best people working at NRL HQ then have to have pay the market rate for multi billion dollar business but they aren't prepared to pay the wages of top administrator so they will never get one.

If Seward had some incriminating info they why would they have let the NRL talk to him? They lifted a non disclosure aggrement to let him be interviewed?

Yep. I always thought it was strange we removed the confidentiality agreement when we didnt have to. Should have done the smart thing like the Broncos and kept quiet.

Because the NDA was going to expire anyway (June I think) and this would have dragged on longer. And it also may have looked like we were hiding shit.

We should be putting the pressure back on the NRL and mention that stuffed poor excuse for a investigation at the Broncos and the cheap houses that the Cowboys chairman sold to players but was sweep under the carpet in 5secs. Also Scott Prince got a house built for him by a sponsor when he was at the Titans and that was fobbed off too.
And the Queensland team claim there is a conspiracy against them?

I'm pretty sure he left on bad terms with the board now he has a way to get back at them. No way would I have let him talk to the NRL before the agreement was up if it had anything close to incriminating involved.

didn't the NRL threaten us with something if we didn't let him talk?

Gee and anyone who knew what was going on at the Broncos were sacked so the club couldn't make them give evidence

they were then given life bans by the NRL http://www.theaustralian.com.au/spo...l/news-story/2eafa542da693abc0209db825967e525

Mate there is no evidence that the Cowboys chairman sold the players cheap houses. He sold them houses, none of which were obviously out of whack with market values. Several of them are now worth less.

We have to fight this on its merits (if there are some). Blaming everyone else is not going to work (and nor should it). It's just deflection.

The Broncs case sucks, but the NRL simply can't get the evidence. In our case, someone seems to have been happy to give them the goods. That is not the NRL's fault.

So.....we make him abide by the agreement....and then in June he tells them all he's got (whatever that is), and we get another breach notice in July / August? Not what I'd like to see.

Well that all but confirms we'll be f**ked up the arse next week
Not necessarily. It says "if" the NRL finds fault with the club, and "the process as we understand it is".

It's seems more a wise attempt to try and educate the dopey membership of how things actually work, so dopey merkins don't go off half cocked at the first media headline they might see on Tuesday (or whenever).

Monday's AGM no doubt will be a good example of the high dopey merkin factor in our membership base, and when our own members have already been convinced to believe media hype first (and asking questions or making sensible analysis later), what hope has the club got?

The Cows were exonerated in 5 minutes. A fair question is why they were not subject to the same forensic scrutiny as us. Due process and fairness is all that is we ask and expect.

If it they were not audited with similar veracity, then apparently an investigation can be re-opened based on pure media speculation.

No doubt we hear the penalties in the media well before the NRL announces it, media always seems to get hold stuff within 24hrs of it being announced.
