What I would like to know is what is Ian Schubert doing? I thought he was brought in specifically to manage the cap and ensure that everything was above board?

6 years? More like a horrible 6 months... The Eels can't let a little "over hyped" situation destroy what Ricky tried to start building a couple years back. Assure the "big name" players especially Gordon, Peats & Norman ala Smith/Slater/Cronk with the Storm to get them off to a good start for 2017.

Most teams average playing 28 players a season. Injecting a few young guys to aid the salary cap is the way the Eels board have to go. If they do so a squad of the below could be very capable for 2017. If they can be competitive for 2016, thats a realistic bonus too.

1. Clint Gutherson (Signed to be a starting fullback, give him the gig for the rest of 2016? a Mini/RTS shuffle)
2. Micheal Gordon
3. Micheal Jennings
4. Brad Takairangi
5. Semi Radradra
6. Corey Norman
7. Keiran Foran
8. Tim Mannah
9. Nathan Peats
10. Danny Wicks (A no nonsense forward who will get the job done, give him 2016 to prove he can be that forward leader)
11. Beau Scott
12. Manu Ma'u
13. David Gower (An experienced lad in the middle who wont let off field issues effect his game)

14.
15. Daniel Alvaro (With Paulo going, Alvaro needs the spotlight)
16. Tepai Moeroa (Always takes long to get involved, impact off the bench at his age is probably best use for him)
17. Kenny Edwards

- NYC FB
- John Folau (2017 to be the year he gets 10+ games)
- NYC WG
- NYC 5/8
- Mitch Cornish (Back up for Norman/Foran are vital, Eels need to show faith in him instead of Kelly)
- Kaysa Pritchard
- Peni Terepo
- Kelepi Tanginoa
- Matt Doorey (Best 2RF prospect at the Eels IMO)
- NYC 2R
- Matt Woods (A Fensom like player who could be anything in 2/3 years)

Sure those 2 teams were amongst the best in the game that time but the Eels were at the last stage of a rebuilding phase IMO. If they take 2 steps back, they may still end up taking 3 forward next year.

The positives are we have a chance for a clean slate now that finally the bad eggs in the club are being weeded out.

I'm shattered I truly am, but after reading what these incompetent clowns have been doing how can we criticise the NRL or other clubs at all???

3m from 2013 isn't much different from the rubbish the Storm was guilty of, I hope Fitzy and his leaking mates are f**king happy. Arrogant old fossil, hope you and leaking mates get by about 20 cement trucks.if he can't run the club he's rather f**kiing destroy it.

And as for Sharp and his board and staff, f**k you and your good governance and stuff you f**king out of your depth clown. Even as late as last night the useless prick was lying to the fans. Shame you won't be around long enough to get your dodgy pay rise you wanker.

Mostly I feel sorry for the players and Ba and his coaching staff, this season you are a team to be proud of, hope we can keep the core of this side together and win a comp in the next year or 2.

The nrl at the time allowed those players to renegotiate their contracts to stay together, they won't allow that anymore. We are going to go 2 steps back then 3 steps back. Hope I'm wrong but that's how I see it
