The injunction will probably force a compromise from the NRL. For guys like Ando, a career NRL guy, he would want the ability to work elsewhere within the code.

I don't really know, but I'd say that it would have something to do with it. So that their exit is as not viewed being banished etc. This is because they maintain that 99% of the shit was inherited. Which is yet to be proven to be true.
f**k Ando and f**k the whole 5 of them, not only did they cheat they were committing fraud. And you are happy for the club to fit the bill while they try and save their hides.

Get f**ked!! They should of been run out of town as soon as the verdict was handed down, I suppose plunger ranger till the end ;-)

Unfortunately caught the end of Raaaay today, he is after the CEO Bevan Paul now, vitriolic statement on him. Wonder who will put up as a replacement, the Fitzy advertising and job application show :)

He may want to continue some sort of role within rugby league but the ARLC will simply tell him to get f**ked if he tries to

so how do they suggest we come up with the 570k??

What people don't get is that you can't offload our nuffies. Other clubs don't want our nuffies.

These are are players off contract according to zerotackle

Mitch Cornish, Isaac De Gois, Bureta Faraimo, Tyrell Fuimaono, Michael Gordon, James Hasson, Luke Kelly, Cameron King, Kieren Moss, Cody Nelson, Corey Norman, Rory O'Brien, Nathan Peats, Scott Schulte, Kelepi Tanginoa, Vai Toutai, Honeti Tuha, Joseph Ualesi, Danny Wicks, Matthew Woods

I nominate Peats as he is off contract next year and we have other options. IDG says he wants another couple of years. So by then, hopefully Pritchard is up to NRL standard consistently.

Norman is the other candidate as he has already attracted attention from other clubs.

I mean there's no point saying lets get rid of Matt Woods, as no one would really want him

By the same logic, why not offload IDG? He's off contract and he's old. Peats has more prime time left in him and IDG is on the way down.

I think ditching Norman would be suicide.

Half those players are second tier so won't make a difference. And there is no way you could tap peats / Norman (not that I would want too) to move on. It's the squad / coach that is keeping the club together, we lose their support ( which will happen if Norman / peats are asked to more on) and the club is stuffed!!

The Bunnies need a hooker. Peats would go back in a heart beat I reckon.

Well if he's apart of the Rort then he has a case to answer. Fake or inflated invoices is it not a criminal act?

The problem with fixing the cap is the short time frames involved. Not much time to work things out. I would do the following to get us under:

- fast track Watmough's retirement, could potentially free up $300-750k
- offer contract extensions of one year to a combination of Manu / Edwards / mannah / Gutterson / Gordon but revising their 2016 contract by $50-60k ( but making it up in later years). Potentially saving us $250-300k

I don't have an issue with that but buy your logic, would other teams want IDG or Peats?

Well that's it.

For mine, it's Paulo, Peats, Norman. There's nothing much to choose over.

I read some other club was interested in Mau. We have a number of backrowers, he could be an option

This is why I think if watmough retiring won't get us under we will spend the season playing for nothing or may as well be because we won't be a hope of winning enough games anyway. The only players we can offload to get under will be pivotal to the team. Any galvanizing that has happened to the team will be destroyed if players like Corey or peats or both are moved on. I think it would be best to forget about this season points wise and try to get next years side sorted out.

You can't do either of those. The retirement is out of your hands as it needs to go through the medical review process and players aren't allowed to take pay cuts this year to get you back under the cap per the NRL

I wouldn't risk it than, play for no points and focus on 2017. Lose peats / Norman and there will be a riot among the players.

That's about right. We either get there by a combination of Watters retiring, losing a fringe player or two and successfully challenging some part of the breach (e.g. particular TPAs which we think were OK), or we keep our squad.

Then if we can't play for points, the club keeps it's own NRL Ladder, and at the end of the season we figure out which position we'd be in and set up an alternative finals series in which we play a team dressed as the team that we would have been playing, but who are really the Harris Park Under 12s (pick different team for each week of the 'finals'). Then we play the grand final against Kempsey 16s at Parra Stadium and burn it down.

Why not? Thought players can sign revised contract as long as it is part of a contract extension ?
