Away from the Radradra sideshow, there has been frustration from Eels supporters about not having the club's final salary cap penalty resolved. They want clarity on how many games Brad Arthur's team would have to win after a deduction of competition points to mount a bid for the semi-finals but Schubert said he could understand the time the NRL was taking to produce a determination.

"The breach [notice] was substantive, the responses were substantive and the NRL are giving them due consideration as they should," he said.

Pretty sure we haven't lost a game since junior left ..

Lost plenty the last few years with him in the team..

We don't need Junior to win games (or Peats, or Hayne, or whoever) we need 17 blokes who are committed to each other and won't give up

12 points we lost. If we wanted to play finals why did we release Jnr.
Because if we didn't release him (along with Watmough and Peats and Morgan) we would've lost more than 12 points for not being cap compliant, and be even less chance of making finals footy.

Ummmmm no, we were cap compliant and played 2 games with junior after losing Peats. We lost Junior because the poor little fella was being ruined by nasty Sydney life :(

I think you're half right. IMHO the release of Morgs and Jnr were unnecessary so I must assume that we needed their 2016 coin for something else. Maybe pertaining to Norman ?

I think we just let Junior go because he was being a f**kwit and being a disruptive influence on the group. Morgs was really not needed and at the time they probably thought they needed only to shed him to get under the cap. All was sweet until they stuck all the TPA's on this years cap.

Agree, junior was his own undoing ... he's clearly got knob tendencies

I reckon letting Morgan go was to let us bring a player into the top 25, maybe French ? Along with saving some cap.

Paulo asked for a release didn't he? So we probably did him a favour by letting him go. Plus he was being an idiot

Fair enough re the timing, but I'd agree that we didn't just let those guys go at roughly the same time just for shits and giggles... it's tied in with our cap dramas (current or coming) somehow.

Plus with Junior there was probably a deeper (NRL-suggested?) need to get the bloke out of Sydney pronto, or he'd be facing further trouble/a suspension....?

What good would have keeping Junior here done, in terms of trying to make the semis? We've won plenty of games in his absence, the forwards we have left are doing the job fine even with Mannah injured.

Everyone that leaves the club in the next 2 years are going to have "left due to cap pressure" tagged with their exit.

Whether it was or wasn't.

The media even tried saying that Gordon signing with the Roosters was cap related.

So are we finding out on Thursday? Then the appeals process starts? What if it's not sorted by Round 26?

We win the competition and then have it stripped, expect this time they'll give the premiership to the runner up and give them a parade and all with a big "F**k You Parra" float leading the procession
