After this shitstorm the most obvious place for him to return to League in 2014 would be the Storm to avoid all the media scrutiny.

True. But not yet.

Players are still signing only 1 contract down there at the moment.
Give it a couple of years & they'll be back to signing 3 contracts again. That's when Falou can "return to the flock like a lost sheep." Rupert will probably build a new church for him.

This seed of thought was planted in my noggin by an AFL fan, but the more and more I think about it, the more it seems plausible:

What if, as a term of condition to his release, the AFL asked Folau to f**k the NRL around a little to try to make us look stupid. Of course it can never be proven but i wouldn't put it past those merkins either.

What if Rob Quiney put him up to it to try to take the focus off his recent dumping from the test team.

Of course there is not a shred of evidence to support this but he seems the type....,

I mean ffs

Please you and I both know that Rob Quiney is basking in the knowledge that he played one of the greatest 9's you'll ever see.

:)

I see most commentators are calling for him to replace punter

I guess if he gets 9 he will contribute more than punter has for a good while

Geez some of you are the biggest hypocrites walking the planet. Trash the media at every chance than take their word as gospel when it suits an agenda of your own.

If Folau's primary interest was money he would have stayed earning 1.5m a year in AFL. He said from the start he was keeping his options open, i read three or four direct quotes from him suggesting as such.

The media jumped on the Folau > League fairytale and the eels and their fans started discussing what jersey number he was going to wear even when it became obvious that fitting him into ANY nrl club in 2013 was not feasible without some kind of special, unfair cap arrangement.

Hence he is going to Rugby on a ONE year deal and will revisit his options in a years time. Seems like he still holds hope of returning one day and 2014 will be a much more viable time for him to return. Good luck to him, the game wasn't willing to break the rules to accomodate him and hence he's earning a paycheck elsewhere for a year - where is the hate warranted in that? Seems like if the Eels, insead of playing it out in the media, where realistic Folau would be in yellow and blue in 2014.
How did Parra f*ck it up you fruitloop? The only possible way we did was by Edwards statement last Friday about only wanting players committed to the club - thus shutting the door in Izzy forever -before it came to light that Folau was going to Union for only a year. Then again, the only reason he did that was to look at coming back to the NRL in 2014 for a different club.

Parra have been working on this for months - under the impression that he wanted to play with his brother and his mates. That - quite obviously - was bullsh*t.

As for his multi million dollar AFL deal, think about it. Whatever AFL was going to get out of him already happened - that is, publicity for GWS. AFL couldnt organise his farewell press conference quick enough. When was the last time a player announced he was leaving a club in a press conference WITH HIS COACH? Was Toovey with T REX when he announced his Dogs deal? Was Ivan Cleary next to Gordon and Lewis when they became Sharks? Did Neil Henry accompany JT when he visited the Dogs?

I reckon AFL and Izzy agreed to split in the same way Souths offloaded Beau Champion to sign Inglis. Izzy was unhappy and failing big time. AFL was wasting squillions on a dud. It wouldnt surprise me if they convinced him to leave, or at least encouraged him by saying "the door is open, it would be in your best interests to take a decent contract with the NRL while you can still get one".

Parramatta did not balls this up. The NRL was slow, Schubert was inflated with his own self importance, his manager was after the cash, and Folau himself was a f*cking liar. The Eels contract was ready to be signed - sanctioned by the NRL - before the Union one was even thrashed out.

Perhaps Izzy's manager was telling the eels one thing and telling izzy something else ?

He is a non drinking non smoking god fearing Mormon who still lives at home FFS not willie mason
I thought home was in Brisbane?

Good on you Folau, I don't blame you not wanting to play for that shamble of a club. Turned them down for 1/3 the price he has signed for with the Union.

Deadset how could the eels screw that up, what a ramble that club is. Spoon coming again.

It's almost worth unignoring that nuffie natheel to see his temper tantrum

All the bagging of Folau is unjust, he is going to union for 1/3 of what he could of got with parra. He just clearly woke up to himself and realised how bad it would be going to that waste of a club in the nrl.
Tell us about your salary cap again? Or about the ethical nature of your Mad Monday? Or how Slater was at fault for sticking his ear in that fat pommy geniuss mouth?
