Do the bookmakers know something???

I have done a check and found these odds now

TAB $13
Centrebet $14
Betfair $20
Sportingbet $17
Sportsbet at $21
BetEzy $13

Some large variation in our price..suggests some have taken substantial bets while others haven't

Interesting...

We have used the money we are going to save on not signing a halfback to pay every club to do a "Tandy" for us.

Not really. It's be the same for every club. All it would take a few small bets to fluctuate the odds right now.

Our price is always shorter than it should be too, because we have so many fans, and most punters tend to bet with their hearts.

The end result is that our odds are always short, and backing Parra is almost never good value.

I don't gamble any more but most of the money I made from punting came from betting against the Eels. The Dragons are another team worth betting against from a value standpoint.

More likely someone else got the scoop and has backed the Eels which has tipped them off. I know. I know. That never happens does it. :sarcasm:

I am surprised with the price at Centrebet. I dont know BetEzy, but, there is NO surprise that the tight asses at the TAB are offering the lowest price. The TAB is a joke when it comes to fixed odds betting - they only get sucker money, from people that are not really punting for profit. The TAB facilitate the small punter, who doesnt have an account with the bookmaking firms.

Look at the odds at the top of your screen for the 4 nations.

On the TAB, they are:

Australia: $1.38
New Zealand: $3.25
England: $13.00
PNG: $150.00

The TAB are unders on everything! (2% under on the aussies, 23% under on the kiwis, 10% under on the Poms & 40% under on the PNG)

(PNG should be $2500/1)

On percentages - the TAB is betting about 113% Orange Odds (above) is betting at about 102%. The TAB is making an extra 10% on average, on bets made with them.

Having said all of that - I wouldnt be betting on anything, this far out - you would have to be just hoping.

150 is way too short for PNG

Have the cowboys blown out at all??? Or the Storm?

Odds don't work that way - the only way a price can come out is lack of interest relative to other options.

So while inside information can shorten the odds of one option (team) quickly via a few big wagers in a short period of time, other options continue to receive interest due to the majority of punters being unaware of the inside information.

Once said information goes public then the punters will react to it, blowing the price out. But while the information (if it does exist) remains insider knowledge it won't lengthen the odds of any option other than a slight drift out of the odds of all options relative to the one that is being shortened.
