Not sure why all the fuss in on our outside backs. Most outside backs (particularly wingers) know how to finish/find the line. My concern is the halves. Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that we had a great backline last year but where did it get us? The main reason last year's backline were so ineffective was because the only time they got the ball was when they came in field looking for it.

If Stephen Kearney has devised a plan that enables Robson and Mortimer to actually distribute the ball to the outside backs (giving them space to work in), he will be a genius - purely because I do not believe the current halves are capable of such a task.

Anyway, can't wait for Saturday night. My fingers, toes and everything else will be crossed!

How come everyone is blaming Anderson for the poor recruitment for this year?

Wasn't it "scandalous" that Ossie was meeting with Kearney during the year - and wasn't the suggestion that the meetings were to determine which players we ought to be chasing?

And in the end, the club hasn't spent the 'full quid' since we couldn't get a good halfback - so we've put the money aside and will throw it all towards getting one for next year.

Personally I'm excited to see how Morgan goes - and Walker will certainly be 'interesting' to watch (especially him + Burt in defence!!!)

Casey Macguire at 9 excites me!!
Good to see Morgan get first crack in the centres after a fine pre season.

Small wingers really scare me against this mob.

Halves are going to have to have a blinder and Hanyzy is going to have to do his thing.

1 thing is for sure and certain, it will be a different look and feel about this side to what we have been used to now for quite some time.

We are going to get spanked over there in NZ !

Morgan is tiny to go along with fellow ants Luke Burt, Mortimer & Robson.

Lasalo has to be one the most overrated prospects in years aswell !! Its his time to shock or i see another Weller Hauraki or Junior Paulo sorta situation.

Are all those forumites still glad we let 'useless' Tahu go???
Gee we could use him in that line up. I can't see where our points are going to come from.

I will bet my left one that if Tahu signs with Panfas he will tear it up now that he has had a season under his belt.

What's done is done but gee this club loses some good players through unusual circumstances. Warriors by 20+

Nope, don't really give a sh*t about Tahu and i'm convinced he'll be just as mediocre and maybe worse for the Panthers especially now that he achieved nothing under his first season back.

It's better that the club blood mediocre youngsters than a mediocre has-been in Tahu.

Moimoi and Whatuira will travel with the squad and are a good chance of playing.

That wenty team looks bluddy strong.

Yeah I have some inside news that Fats is on standby with Walker having a injury cloud over him.

Fats was not listed in any team but will play this week in NZ or for Wenty.

Or I could be wrong ;)

Wont play for wenty mate. He'll be in NZ on saturday, unless SK changes his mind before they fly out.

I thought the Panthers line up with Simmons and Tighe as the Centre was dangerous..... Look out!

Another premiership for the Eels is on the cards for sure and the Knights might as well forfeit to save the embarrassment!

LUKE BURT???? F*ck me.
Here we again. No dummy half runs, no metres gained. The Warriors will be shaking in their boots especially The Beast.

The only reason Burt is picked is because he's been around for so long, & he can kick. Hands down the laziest player in the game. I just can'r understand how some Parra fans have so much love for him.

I know it doesn't look too flash on paper but fortunately football games aren't won on paper.

SK will have the boys ready to go.

Is Morgan & Lasalo likely to stay in the run-on team?

Could probably give you a different opinion to Ben Kusto's grandmother:

Lasalo has played ahead of B Smith in the trials and I would see no reason for Smith to start ahead of him.

Morgan will definitely start, and he might well be the 'youngster' that stays in the top grade for the year. I would imagine Whatuira and Reddy will be the starting centres in a few weeks though.

100% correct.

But you'll get shouted down around here for saying that.

I'm just hoping that defensively Burt contests 1 bomb in the air this season - which would be 1 more than last year.
