I'd like to see Rogers offload to Hayne for him to break the line and dash downfield then pass inside to Loko to score under the posts.

Just so we could say Puffing Billy offloads to the Hayne Train who sets up the Loko-motive to score untouched.

I really, really hope, you weren't working on that for more than 3 minutes.

How can use judge billy rodgers on the game time he has had?
Loko shoudl be retained for the centres for this year-Afterlll Kearney is building a side for the future-And hicks and walker arent part of the future...
Michell must be in the side.

No-one is judging him based on that. By why put him on the bench ahead of a back up dummy half or utility. Doesn't make sense.

By the way who played half last week when Robson was moved to hooker?

Robson continued to defend on the right side, with Rogers defending in the middle.

In attack, Mortimer stayed on the left and we played with an extra back-rower on the right side.

It didn't really matter because we spent the whole time coming out of our end.

On Sunday Cameron Smith showed why he is the best player in the world by a mile and then some more. Anthony Mitchell does not have the physical side to the game that Cameron has. Puffing Billy & Jeff Robson are much better options at 9/14 than Mitchell is. With Mortimer in the defensive line, we can't afford to have Mitchell in there too. Melbourne exposed all our forward weaknesses & its obvious Mitchell has to go.

Where possible, Shack must never be allowed to defend out wide again.

Cameron Smith should have been targeted and brutally smashed for the first 30 minutes, then we win. It's as simple as that. Next time we play Storm, doesn't matter if they put on two or three tries while we send Fui, Webb, Hayne, etc, at Cameron, wave after wave, eventually we'll derail the storm attack and run all over the top of them. Lets wipe that smirk off his face. Without Cameron Smith, Slater and Cronk won't have the time and space to do what they are brilliant at. Lets hope SK starts practising these tactics with Ennis on Friday night.

Doesn't make sense.

That's why I think he'll play if fit.

Not naming him might be a smokescreen, because Mitchell is certainly a target in defence, but if he's fit we need him because McGuire could break at any minute and even if he doesn't we don't want him out there getting punished for a whole match. Bit of a stupid smokescreen though because if posters here can work it out then surely someone at the Bulldogs will. It's not like the Loko-jersey-15 smokescreen which at least took the media heat off him (everyone knew he would play but at least we could deny it to the media with him not named in the NRL side). Mitchell's already played a few NRL games as well as turning out for the Indigenes.

Don't forget, when Murray eventually makes his debut he's unlikely to be named either.

I don't think he's ever deliberately stationed in the edge defence, it's just that he works hard and scrambles well so it's natural he'll end up there at some stage, especially defending our line.

But I agree he's an ordinary wide defender.

Stephen Kearney seems to be the second coach now that doesnt have much faith in Ant Mitchell.

I wonder if Loko is worth drafting into my supercoach team?

could be something up between the halves and hooker come game time is my feel based on that side

like Atkins and Loko being retained, was a must for mine
Shacks must be disappointed to lose a starting spot - even in the backrow - but i love Mannah and Fuifui starting

Webb surely plays....

That is a premiership winning front row and hooker, one of the best in the comp. Shame about the rest of the side

Id like to see shacks partner hindy in the second row...

exactly.....that's what i was saying above.....
Shacks really carts the ball forward strongly

i think what is going against him is SK appears to be determined to have more mobile, wide-running backrowers, which IMHO is not always a must....

i think you make Lasalo, Horo and Smith battle it out o be your starting lock to round out the backrow - but hey maybe Lasalo and/or Horo will show us something on Friday night?

Even if Loko stuffs up he needs to stay in the NRL squad for the rest of the year. I noticed him thinking about his game, first slow, then suddenly remembering to quickly get back in the defensive line. He did this quite a bit - he's actually confronting his lazy side, he wants to stay in the top 17 and so he's pushing himself like never before. Awesome.... His confidence will have grown after playing Storm. I really enjoyed watching this young man play - to experience his true awakening that he can play in the NRL & he's only 18.... wow...

Maybe Ant Mitchell was dropped because he didn't play to SK's instructions? After all, all I saw from Mitchell was deep passing from dummy half, but none of the quick, flat passes that Maguire and Keating were using to get our forwards over the advantage line.

Those deep passes allowed the Storm to smash us, thereby restricting us to under 40m gained per set of six.

I do agree Maguire needs a backup though, it is obvious he can't play for 80 minutes.

I definitely think we have no choice but to keep loko in there, he will get better with every run..

That's not a bad approach if you have those players available. Horo has shown it last year but has been poor this year. Lasalo has been quite ineffective in attack running wide this year. Better off using Shacks as a hard running back rower if we don't have an effective wide running one. That's if we're not going to be using him as a front rower which appears to be the case this week.
