Considering we finished the game with only 1 player from our round 1 first choice Players in jerseys 1-9 I think we did pretty damn well.

Just shows that the mentality of running with a 4 forward bench has flaws. So often a back goes down and it's a turning point as teams target the 2nd rowers defending in the centers. Most back rowers can play 80, props are showing they can play 50+minutes. If you don't run with a spare hooker on the bench, I'd have a replacement back there. Or at least a Taka/peachy tyoe that is as comfortable in the backs as they are in the centres. Tim sheens was ahead of his time.

I was proud of them last week. Even against the Sharks, despite losing a huge lead. And the first half today.
But that second half was just diabolical.

We ran out of troops and luck. I for one am happy we competed in the face of the season of adversity, and that just doesn't mean today. The NRL would be secretly unhappy we are again, not playing in the finals. It's in their best interests for a competing Eels team to be there.

I reckon they'll be happy to have us there next year. Maybe not so much this year.

Ma'u seems pretty comfortable in the centres.
Unfortunately, we lost another one during the game.

If only we could have had Morgan on the bench.

We didn't have to have Scott defending in the centres though.
We showed that towards the end of the game. Just a shocking decision from Arthur.
Hindsight is f**king sensational

We f**ked up ... shit happens ... we should probably have never been in that game to start with

Time to take stock and for all to realise..........2016 is OVER!!! Brad is astute enough to use the remainder of this season to use it as a trial for 2017 in some respects. That's what I would do.

Scott is the centres was a massive blunder that cost us the game.

Gutherson should have started the second half defending there and we would have been fine.

Arthur cost us that game.

Apart from that, was happy with the continued good effort. A couple of times we nearly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and that says a lot about the team.

From BA's presser:

- extremely proud of the team and effort
- no one gave up
- Jennings wasn't looking likely all week so Scott trained at Right centre most of the week, before takas was ruled out and Jennings pulled up ok
- Jennings unlikely for next week
- Gutho did great, and showed he can play there again next week if we don't get players back (maybe not a good sign for Norman..)
- team still holding onto the slim chance of finals football, they'll keep putting in for 7 from 7.

The integrity of the referees should most definitely be in question this year......

That try they took off us was bullshit, I have seen them given this year after they took that one off us earlier in the year.

That was no knock on at the start of the second half and then giving them a penalty for nothing more than the Panthers did all game gave them a try and started the onslaught.

We have to take blame for not showing enough commitment during that period but the refs being a joke didn't help......

Frustrated is the word I would use, not proud. We should have won, even with everyone we have out.

And that 15 minutes of football cost us the game at the end of the day. It doesn't matter how brave you are in defeat if it's a defeat of your own making. We needed to be tough in defence and we weren't, and ultimately that's why we lost
We were beaten for speed out wide, not toughness.
