HE has toughened up Danny Green, battle-hardened the Parramatta Eels and helped Dani Samuels become a world champion athlete.
Now its Hayden Knowles turn to deliver on the hard work ethic he commands of athletes and deliver a knockout performance.
A trainer for Green, Samuels and the Eels, Knowles has accepted a challenge from the boxer to step into the ring and see what it feels like to fight.
He will make his debut on the undercard of the IBO world featherweight fight at Parramatta Leagues Club on Friday night, to the delight of a star entourage.
``(Eels coach) Daniel Anderson cant wait he said hell be front row, Knowles said with a laugh.
``And a table got snapped up immediately by (captain) Nathan Cayless.
``And (CEO) Paul Osborne wants the whole team to go and get shirts made up.
Knowles will fight little-known Jacques Hendrisson in the super middleweight category.
In his corner will be Green, fellow boxing champion Vic Darchinyan and Eels head trainer Craig Catterick.
Yet the man himself fears it might send the wrong message.
``Its going to be a classy corner, but I dont know about the boxer, he said.
The 32-year-old is not about to follow Green in a boxing career, but wants to learn from the experience.
``I had a challenge from Danny to experience the night itself losing your body weight, body soreness, he said.
``Im a bit nervous about it to tell you the truth.
While he is reluctant to talk up his chances, Knowles hopes his fitness will give him a chance.
``Id like to think Ill be fairly strong, but that might not mean anything if (Hendrissons) got skill, he said, laughing.
``I preach to players to never give in, and if I dont do that, Ill cop it all season.
``So if I give in, Ill never hear the end of it.
