Eels trial.

Wighton is a Dally M winner. He is absolutely a better player than Luai. The difference in result could be down to less familiarity between the halves and very different motivation levels between the two teams. It's why so many Origin dead rubbers are won by the team that lost the series. Motivation is so important in a sport like this.

Moses finished Origin with a fracture in his back and still set up two tries. If you think he's not a quality player that says something about you.
Wrighton and Moses lost game three. They are flat track bullies. Now go back to the Eels page.

It means nothing, he was most likely told not to take the line on, try to only catch, pass and kick. Be passive in defence and above all, don’t get hurt.

abTrial form means zero, good or bad

Penrith played the game as a trial. The Eels came out all guns blazing, which when you think about it was a little amusing. It was a trial game.

Amusing because this match meant NOTHING.

It was probably good in hindsight because it brought the players back down to earth with a thud.

I'm sure Cleary had his say.

Trials are just that Trials.

Chest beating and the like is the sport for supporters who haven't lifted up a premiership trophy since the mid 1980's.

I do hate repeating it despite what some think but geeez Luai was bad, I know he had no platform to work from but he needs to step up and lead when Nathan isn't there. Doing a few extra long kicks isn't stepping up either, he has a shit boot on him really. Should have been touching the ball a few times a set, getting into dummy half, whatever it takes

I didn't notice him good or bad really which is odd.

I always find it amusing (in fact laughable) when posters death ride a particular player.

Luai didn't play well yesterday, but he wasn't alone in that yesterday.
Not death riding him Alice. He's capable of so much more but has failed 90% of the time without Nathan. A origin half needs to be better

I just said I didn't notice him. Not really death riding him or asking for him to be dropped or anything. He just needs to be a bit more dominant without Cleary.

On Staines replacing Edwards I always thought that was a long term thing but I can't fault Edwards last season and happy to be wrong about a player for us since our team reap the rewards anyway. He still needs to learn to pass though.

Ok so now you resort to insulting me to try and get your point across.
No the insult was a separate point.
Moses is a flat track bully. Cleary is what a quality player actually is, Moses is not in the same class as Cleary by a longshot. Cleary had a busted shoulder and still managed to steer panthers through a tough finals series with a busted team, win a premiership and take home Clive Churchill medal. Setting up 2 tries in a losing side in a dead rubber hardly compares.
Cleary being a quality player doesn't detract from Moses' ability.

We won last year 12-0 in the same game. Ivan usually holds back stuff in these games.

We play Dragons, Knights and Dogs in the 1st 5. Worst case will be 3-2 but plenty of time to get those set moves out

Cost us 15+ tries last year. He won't throw the ball when it's on, seeing he was a 5/8 when younger it's bizarre. I think it's more than 50% mental. Let's hope winning a comp on a broken foot has pumped him up mentally

I have said and will continue to say Yeo is under rated with the space he gets the backs. Very noticeable when he is out

The stuff he does to start our sets off far out weighs that. He just needs a year of not being injured to fix the attack

Yeah it's horrible how bad Edwards is in backline plays. If he sorts it out like you said he'd be downright elite fullback.

I think people are seeing it more. Yeo is getting mentioned fairly regularly now.

If he did indeed blow 15 then he easily saved that many last season. He was the best player of the finals series.

When Api leaves it will change things. Right now I really can't question his spot in the team. Especially when Crichton and Staines aren't doing a lot to claim the position.

That is it for me.

We can cover one of Api, Yeo and Cleary not playing. 2 or more missing and attack struggles. Yeo at 1st reciever gives extra space and time
