Eels trial.

Tago got caught out by some pretty decent sweeping plays by the Eels, it happens, he certainly wasn’t helped by Kikau on one of them. I think too much expectation has been placed on Tago, he is a kid, very inexperienced in a position which is very difficult defensively. I’m not convinced he is quite ready and personally I think he could benefit from half a season in NSW Cup to further develop all that comes with playing in the centres.
If Tago doesn't work at centre I would put Edwards there and Turuva at FB

The point is Moses plays well in big games, including n Origin. The team fails as a whole because the roster has been weaker than the top clubs due to poor recruitment/retention prior to the relatively recent management restructure in 2019. Moses has been the least of our worries. He's a quality player.
When he's on he's as good as anyone. But he isn't always on.

im not sure Dylan has ever played the position and fully fit he is far and away our best fullback option for 2022. Turuva needs a full year in NSW Cup in whatever position the club thinks he is best suited for NRL. I think he is a fullback but that is just me.

Perhaps, if we were at full strength and they had Moses and half a dozen others out.

Again I think the Eels are a better side than some on here suggest.

They have a very good spine the Eels. Mitchell Moses is a much better player than some suggest.
Of course they were the better side, they were at full stength

It won't ever happen. But I think Edwards would actually fit in well at centre. Only problem would be his passing game isn't great.

But he reads the game well. He's incredibly strong and fit and a decent defender. He's also good at making metres after contact and can draw in defenders.

Would be atleast as good as Dugan was at centre IMO. But he's our best fullback so there's no chance he moves.

I don’t think Robert Jennings is a risk. He is experienced, most of his NRL games have been on the wing, but I think if you consider him a risk then perhaps early on he is less of a risk than Tago. If I was picking the side for round 1 Robert Jennings would be my pick.
I’m actually warming to this idea.

1. Edwards
2. May/Staines
3. Crichton
4. Jennings
5. To’o

14. Tago

Allows Tago to spell Kikau/Martin and provides cover for injuries in the back 5.

Plausible although I think reading Ivan’s mind he is leaning towards Jaemon as the utility. Dare I say it, Tyrone is a bigger loss than many would care to admit.

’Incoming’.

It's no surprise hayden Knowles leaves and our fitness levels have dropped. We can all say that we had 6 out and parra were full strength but u can't deny how slow our players looked yesterday.Luai t'oo and some of our forwards looked like we are still in party mode and spent the off season at kfc.Manly claim to be the fastest side in the nrl we have 11 days to get up to speed or 36-0 here we go again.

Seems to be not many can do what he did for us at 14. Salmon looked pretty bad yesterday, I didn't realise he was that big too.
