Some of them love grasping at straws. I'm surprised he didn't pull out the "Where's your proof that they're all in contract negotiations?" Of course some of them might not have any offers. Gower is 34 next year and Beau Scott will be 35.

I expect him to be in the 17 but not in the starting side.

Although, I also tip him to be a full time middle forward now, but last night he only played on the left edge.

Yep, I can't see Moeroa not being in the top 17. And with Scott/Evan also in the top 17, having someone like Moeroa in there is a nice option - covers edge / middle - so if we lose a half / centre we don't have to adjust to much (Taka goes to the halves / Manu to centre).

I reckon if we lost a half or a centre then Taka would take their place. If we lost both then Manu would move to the centres sure.

Yes of course, not sure why I didn't think of that. It's the most logical option.

This touches on what I was going say about early rounds selections. Coach BA has a squad with good depth because he knows that injures and suspensions are inevitable. So naturally Rnd 1 will be a clusterf**k to squeeze 25 into 17 and merkins will be disappointed. Come Round 7 however there will probably be only 2 maybe 3 missing out on the top 17 and those left will probably be out of form or carrying bad niggles anyway.

When you look at the team, there is really a bees dick between say the 11th best player and the 25th best player in the squad. I'd say you could put anyone of the players ranked 11th to 25th with the top 10 players in the squad and you wouldn't lose much.

Reading the article on the website, it is interesting that Brad had a bit of a crack at French and his defending.

He doesn't normally do that (that i recall). Maybe it was done to keep French a bit grounded after his 2 tries.

I remember being impressed that he almost stopped a certain try. Obviously have lower standards than BA.

There is nowhere to hide with BA, I love that about him.

I had a look at the highlights and i reckon BA would have been unhappy not with the tackle attempt by French but by his positional play. He (French) was way over near the posts which probably contributed to his winger being sucked in too far and hence the distance Bevan needed to cover to make the tackle.

I agree.

All coaches whinge when they have a try scored against them like that... but when a nice pass from their team finds an unmarked winger and they score (like Kirisome's try) the coaches love it.
