He left because he wouldn't move to the back row , insisted he was a 6 and that was it. Went to the Rorters on a prove it deal, got moved to the back row as he wasn't a 6, said nothing and he saw the benefits as was last chance. Happens, plenty of younger players can be stubborn after seeing success in age competition, unfortunate but true.Exactly spot on about Matterson. He also has a great upside and is only in the early stages of development.
I am quite amazed how big he is now .... he is probably one of the biggest in the roosters team - and they have some big f**kers .... i am amazed robinson played him in the centres/wing in the finals, he has gotten too big for itHe left because he wouldn't move to the back row , insisted he was a 6 and that was it. He is listed as a 'five-eighth' on the Roosters website despite not having started in the halves for them since 2016: https://www.roosters.com.au/teams/telstra-premiership/sydney-roosters/ryan-matterson/He left because he wouldn't move to the back row , insisted he was a 6 and that was it. So there is my best 17. . Two big boys and two workers on the bench. The backrow is all capable of long minutes.
As is Alvaro,Tepai,Mannah.
Id be open to another back for taka who would take T-Rexs spot on bench. It offers plenty of cover if anyone of the 1-7 went down during a game. The fact all our backs can play multiple positions helps though. Not ideal but Manu can fill in at centre.
You have too weigh up the risk of an injury statistically to a guy in 1-7 position and the benefit of an extra forward. And does the forward coming on help or weaken our side?
I’m sure he just writes crap like that to keep his traffic up in the off season.I see that Phil from nospam46 has put Jenkovic on the wing.
<sigh>

Well he did want Guth at dummy half so you are probably right.No I reckon he is a genuine idiot

“I am going to take a bit of time to think about it, do some video and have a think about it but I am in no rush to make a decision. We have a couple of training days next week and then a full week preparation into Penrith so I need to have a real good look at it.” He added.
“I think the team we ran out with will be close to the starting team.”

Plenty of merkins won't be happy at missing out. f**ken hope not anyway.Can’t see Tep being too happy not making the starting 17 if that’s what BA goes for at full strength.
Sure. But he has been a certainty in the 17 over the last few years and to now find himself down the pecking order would be especially difficult for a young guy.Plenty of merkins won't be happy at missing out. f**ken hope not anyway.
