That pack is neither fat nor salty enough...Paul Vaughan is far too slim and fit to be a good prop

I think we will line up something like this, injuries permitting:

1. French
2. Hoffman
3. Gutherson
4. Jennings
5. Auva'a
6. Moses
7. Norman
8. Mannah
9. King
10. Alvaro
11. Ma'u
12. Moeroa
13. Brown

14. Pritchard, K.
15. Edwards
16. Evans
17. Scott

With Moeroa spending time at prop.

I'd love to find a spot for Takaraingi, but I don't think we've got room at full strength.

The bench was hard; I think Kaysa will get a bench spot, to come off the bench and help lift out tempo and intensity, and Scott is unlikely to be dropped
Evans will be a weapon off the bench, and Edwards picks himself.

If it was me, I'd add an extra prop to the bench - probably at the expense of Scott.

But Scott's defense is invaluable, and he's also captain.

Choosing the side will be tough!

I'd probably say that will be the side too, although Gutho is long odds to play round one.

BA likes a bench hooker so I agree Kritchard will likely be there. That said I think the bench will be a seven man affair and change depending on who we play and the conditions. Edwards is locked in, probably Evans as well. Scott is valuable but not irreplaceable so I think the next two will be horses for courses picks out of Scott, Kritchard, Matagi, and someone like Terepo/Vave/Niukore/Fritchard if he re-signs, with Scott and Kritchard playing most games.

And of course we might still sign someone. Hoffman and Auvaa are really the only ones who will be worried about their spots, with a few younger players having the ability to fit into the side

I'd say Scott's an automatic if fit for the the first half a dozen of the season at least, He brings leadership and consistency, which goes along way to winning early season games.

I reckon BA is going to smash King and Kritchard preseason. He'll want one of them as an 80 minute player. Even with Moeroa, Brown and Edwards capable of playing in differing pack positions, I think BA will want another bench prop

Oh and he'll train King and Kritchard preseason too

I like it.

I debated whether to start Evans, or Alvaro, and I decided Alvaro's defence to start a game is invaluable.

But then, Evans is no mug in defence, and he would provide some serious attacking punch.

It's all very exciting!

I'm sorta liking the look of that side.

If Gutha is fit

1. Gutha
2. French
3. Taka
4. Jennings
5. Avua'a/Hoffman
6. Norman
7. Moses
8. Mannah
9. King / Pritchard / Will Smith
10. Evans
11. Manu
12. Moeroa
13. Brown

14. Edwards
15. Scott
16. Alvaro
17. Meehan - is he still with us / Peni /Matagi / Vave

French killed it as a winger when he was shifted back there and Gutha needs to be able to roam. French and Gutha and Taka can switch around at times to add a change in dynamics

The hooker has to play 80 mins so I would go for king over Krtichard

The news a few weeks ago was that Meehan wasn't working out and won't be offered a contract.

1Gutherson
2Auvau
3 Taka
4Jennings
5 Bevan

6 Norman
7 Moses

Above is our best backline with who is available. Its big strong and powerfull.
Unless a junior steps up or someones signed.
People thinking GL will play have rocks in head.If takas defense is a weakness imagine this guys. The only alternate option would be Gutherson in centres and Bevan at back if we find a good winger. Perhaps Hoffman gets first crack.

8 Alvaro
9 King
10 Terepo
11 Manu
12 Tepai
13 Brown

14 KE
15Mannah
16 Evans
17 Matagi

Id like another prop, a better hooker and wing. The rest of team looks fine to me.
