BA supposedly started talking to Taka about moving into the pigs at the end of 2017 and before Hayne was signed. I would say he (BA) was smart enough to know that there simply wasn't a lot of taller forwards available in the market (he had already signed Evans) and if he wanted more height he needed to find it within the club. Taka is about the only player we had that fits that bill and he had successfully played in the forwards before.

Interestingly, we all think our props are small yet consider Taka to be be one of those "taller" forwards we need.

Yet Alvaro is 190cm only 2cm (so f**k all) shorter than Taka at 192cm.

I don’t reckon anyone thinks Alvaro is short (or Moeroa). But Mannah, Brown and Matagi all are, at least compared to most other NRL middle forwards.

TBH I said Semi just because, Junior because I'm pretty sure glenny wants him back & Vaughan I just pulled out of thin air because I couldn't think of any other props. Feel free to change with Maria-Hargreaves

Nah f**k that. I hope he's a gun who consistently misses out to the "Mitchell Pearce" of his generation.

NSW can lose the next twenty origins, who gives a shit. Parra winning the premiership is far and away the pinnacle for me as a fan. I hope all our players get unfairly overlooked for NSW

Agreed, although I suspect having your players consistently picked for Origin (especially otherwise fringe Origin players worth $300k-$400k) might mean you get them cheaper than other clubs.

Manu is cover for 1 to 7. Taka / smith don't need to be on the bench for cover.

I dont think so...Taka can play halves.

Plus Manu isn't ideal for centres.

Manu is not a centre.... Taka makes a better centre. He also makes a better half.
Id rather mid game being able to replace a guy if injury with one position not moving too many around.
Obviously if a wing or fullback went down Hayne prob moves but has plenty of expereince there.
I agree KE is a better 2md rower. I picked him as pur best forward this year. Id rather him in tea, then Matagi,Alvaro, Scott or Mannah. Maybe even Evans

Better footwork and ball skills. Probably faster. And I reckon he's a better defender too. Of course Edwards has the aggression and I'd say he would be stronger.
