Just on the Taka vs Edwarda debate.

Arthur said something the other night on NRL360 about us needing to improve our discipline/decision making and that cost us in the semis.

If i remember correctly, Edwards did something a bit silly against the storm that cost us. Don't remember the exact incident.

Or i may be just be clutching at straws...

Wasn't that Manu?

He had a shocker vs the Storm

I dont think so...Taka can play halves.

Plus Manu isn't ideal for centres.

Of course he isnt an idea centre but you aren't going to have a centre on the bench just in case.

My point is we don't need to have a utility on the bench as we have Manu, who is capable of playing in the centres if an injury in the back line occurs.

But seriously I think it's mostly simply because it's harder (and on the defense flip side, easier) to wrap up the ball against a taller opponent, allowing (& disallowing) pass/offload options.
There's also the leverage side of things. Because they are taller, tacklers are going in relatively lower thus allowing the giraffes to "get over the top". Again allowing passes as well as more likely to be tackled to their guts, as well as the tackler being put in a less ideal position to get back to the line.
Plus the longer arm reach means they close up defensive gaps more (although they do also tend to be slower)

So are body shapes changing ? No too long ago most of a NRL squad were Gallen / Tepai / Toumololololo body shapes and positions 3, 4 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 were pretty much the same.

Has Bellyache shown us that having 6'5" forwards is the future ?
